very cool, i like how its pretty hard at the beginning but through trial and error you can get closer and closer
I like this game. I like how player move through tiles while turning on the light. My advice would be to have more controls that let player look around a little more to understand player location. That said, I think it's a great game! I especially like the effect when the game is over!
I can't see jack at the little platforms area at the start
press space to use the lantern
Excellent spin on being chased by a monster. The jumping tiles and limited light source make it super high stress in a way that freedom of movement wouldn't. Don't think I've ever played anything with that particular type of chase mechanic. With that being said I think being able to look around while retaining the tile jumping would be a good improvement. That way you could look back at the monster approaching you as you desperately try to jump tiles in the correct order. Also I do think the initial difficulty at the start of the game might be a bit much.
If you go back, you can fall out of the map through the door. It feels a bit inconvenient that you can’t smoothly rotate the camera or slightly tilt the view towards the floor - I keep stepping past the tiles by accident.
However, the chase element is genuinely scary, which works really well for a horror game!
Special respect for the fact that no one starts chasing you until you’ve gone far enough - it gives you time to get used to the controls.
Ah, good points. Thanks for playing and appreciate the feedback!
Extremely creepy. The grid-based movement is used in a clever way, since you can memorize and recreate discrete steps in a way you couldn't with fluid movement.
Unfortunately I couldn't quite figure out how to cross the chasm without the Glertch catching me and... glertching me.
Thanks very much for checking out and leaving feedback. That's definitely the idea I was going for with the grid-based movement!
Sorry you got glertched.
Gets under my skin in just the right ways! Edit: what do you mean there's more than one level
it's simple, but i love the fear that comes form thaat simplicity is just so nice! :o
This is so cool! Simple concept yet really effective! Got my heart racing :D
