I thought the protagonist was someone so inept at communication that even interacting with a tiny creature like a hamster was difficult when handing over sunflower seeds, but when (spoiler) was laid bare and the neon sign flashed, it was truly depressing.  Beyond that, just everything... the minigames and the direction... they really make you feel down. It felt like watching fan videos from the 2010s Yume Nikki era. You can manipulate people's emotions. 5/5.

Kinda reminds me of Yume Nikki, but more... realistic?

The pixel art is done really well, good job.

Fun little horror game! A little bit surprised when the game tells you that you are not them, but controlling them. Also, love the humor in this one lol.

Very surreal game! Visceral and raw! I liked the feeling of hopelessness and subtle horror in being trapped in your room, causing harm to yourself and those around you. Eventually spiraling into madness! I dig it! Fantastic writing! ^^

This is my personal “scariest” game I’ve played in the jam so far. It really created a pit in my stomach. I think the music was perfect and was very effective at creating the surreal, depressing atmosphere. The vibe reminded me of a similarly disturbing yet weird/funny game called The Static Speaks My Name.

I made a video of your game. It's at the start of this video.

Thank you for playing and for the video! And for talking with the stapler, it's nice to see some people noticed that it has a lot of things to say ajdssjdjfskdfjsf

It's really a frustrating story, and the protagonist's mental state is portrayed exceptionally well.

well done!

Oh, please, rate this new one game https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2025/rate/3962987 nobody rate this, everyone must go from one game to another to be a visible...

Another "what did I just play" game. Pretty cool and abstract ideas put together.

The parts where the player character does random acts by harming himself was pretty unnerving. Great jam submission and great artwork, especially the body horror-like effect when the player character looks at himself in the mirror.

I really enjoyed this game! I loved the artwork, and the story - especially the character, was very unnerving. I felt I wasn't sure how sinister things were going to get and that was very scary. I enjoyed the music, but I think if you're roaming for awhile it would be adequate to reduce the volume. Iwas surprised when the mirror anim happened - super cool, reminds me of Junji Ito.

You made a pretty cool game with the vibe of Undertale, well done!

I liked this game a lot! Very well made. The story is so deep and presented so gooodd. I love it!  (points off for Mr. Nugget's death :(((( )

Well this was depressing... but in the best sense, really dreadful, isolated and paranoid. But still manages to be funny without pulling me out of the experience. Good job! I think it would have been scarier if the scene in front of the mirror had some music like the hamster feeding scene, but that's just nitpicking!

Amazing game! I even had fun reading the credits and got excited over the door reveal, haha. The dialogue is delightful and sad. Overall one of my favorite games I played in this jam! It took me awhile to figure out how to exit my notebook so I bashed all my buttons and found out it was the Enter key. I would appreciate an indicator because I didnt see that button in instructions.  I love the characterization of the stapler and enjoyed the depressing tone of the game along with the jokes. The door just deciding to up and disappear is relatable.

This was great! Got me quite tense, not gonna lie. 😅

You could make the loss condition a bit clearer on the feeding game (I didn’t realize why it was restarting at first) and the notebook and mirror events couldn’t be completed via mouse. Other than that, everything felt super polished and made for a great experience!

That's pretty unsettling, which is cool. I really liked the part with feeding hamster, because it feels kind of "physical"? Your shaking hand is slowly reaching for something. Really liked it.

mr nugget :( 4/5

where was the door going?

Developer

If you're asking where it lead, probably outside. If you're asking where it went to, on a walk to clear its head.

Well that was delightfully harrowing and definitely didn't remind me of some of the lowest points of my life :D I will say Enter wasn't listed among the controls so it took a second to figure out, but beyond that this was great

Thanks for letting me know about the enter thing! Between Godot's weird way of doing input and us confusing each other, you can basically use half the keyboard to do half the things except for some reason the notebook, who doesn't listen to reason no matter how hard we try. Oh and also thanks for playing an enjoying our game!
