This game seems a fun starting point for something that could be much better if the player was aloud to individually control the soldiers by clicking on them and taking over  - however as a stop gap before that even if there where small walls or obstacles to hide behind and shoot from or over it would be a great improvement, sound is great!

What do you think doesn't work about the current gameplay?: It looks cool, but after a few minutes it gets a little boring, because of repetitive activity. Base health needs to be less. Cool explosion graphic! :)

I'm not big on idlers but this was just excellent. It's really fun! Please develop it even further.

Some remarks:

There's no need for enemy base to have that many hitpoints. When you kill all of their troops. you've practically won the round but still need to wait quite a bit until your units deplete all of base's hitpoints even though there's no any resistance.

You know what could be cool; instead of killing the base, let your units take it. Scroll the screen to the right and now the occupied base becomes you new spawning base while your existing units keep on pushing forward. That way you get a more satisfying sense of progress/persistency and the scenery can gradually change as well. The game can show how many bases you've advanced and there could even be some boss base at the end of a section. The enemies could also take the base back and you're then forced to retreat to the previous one.

I enjoyed playing. I suggest the enemy attack the player base at some point to add some challenge. Audio is really good. Also it could be cool to be able to press on your soldiers to make them run faster for a second, because i find myself just staring at the spawn button waiting to press it over and over with nothing else to do but wait or buy an upgrade if i have enough currency. Keep up the good work, this game has tons of potential.

I enjoyed this game, but I missed some chalange (the player's base is never attacked). I didn't know this kind of game (idle game) so I discovered it!

I think that a fast-forward mode is missing.

I loved the sound track.

I see what you did here, an idle version of age of war :)

I finished your demo, I do like Idle games. But something in the game doesn't communicate that it is Idle. It seems too symmetrical, so I kept expecting the enemies to threaten me, which they didn't.

The way I see it, you can go in one of two ways: Make it an age of war style of game, with the enemies actually attacking us. A lot of people like that style of game and you have solid mechanics implemented for this style of game. The other option, is to give it the idle feel. I actually do like the idea of your units getting killed in an idle game, but you have to clarify visually that there is no threat to your base. For example, instead of an enemy army, put a gigantic monster coming out of a swamp and killing whoever comes close. That way we won't expect it to move, and the behavior could be roughly the same.

Anyway, I had fun, good job.

Thanks! That is actually very insightful comment, it explains why I have two sets of feedback from two types of people. Some are suggesting more incremental stuff and some are suggesting more age of war type stuff, and I need to figure out which way to take this game instead of trying to make it fit into both!

The biggest issue I see is that there is no threat of losing. The enemies just stand there waiting for you. The enemy should push forward and attack, even if there is a delay, or they move slower once reaching a certain point. If defeated you could restart the same level with all the same resources, or maybe a penalty for the loss. There are plenty of options for what to do on loss, it just feels like there needs to be something. You have a health bar on the base, so it seems like there might be some plan for the enemy attacking.

Similarly, I know its an idler game, but once you beat a base you can just walk away while accumulating unlimited resources of that type. When you come back you can max everything of that resource out, then go to the next and repeat. Going back to the point above, if the enemies could attack you, and you had a penalty for losing, that would limit this somewhat. As an idler, I'd expect that on loss it would auto-restart, possibly after a bit of a delay. You'd still be able to accumulate resources, but make it so it is more reasonable. Perhaps even add some limits based on human interactions, or on the currently unlocked upgrades. Maybe make it so that you can not get more resources than needed for the most expensive upgrade using that type... well, maybe make it 2x or 3x the max so you don't lose resources while actively playing and just hadn't gotten to purchasing the upgrade yet.

I don't do many idlers, so perhaps my thoughts aren't as relevant to what idler players want. I played to the end game screen then did endless until I maxed all the upgrades. Overall, it feels like a good start.

Hey nice Little game it gives me some Age Of War vibes.
If I would have to point anything in the current version of the game that is "problematic" it would be that you can't loose...
To me it's not really fun to see the enemies Idling and not attacking my base. (is it something you plan to add ?)
if I let the game Idle for 30 / 40 min and come back I will be able to purchase every Upgrade and beat the game easily.

Alternatively it could also be a good foundation for an Idle/Incremental Game but in this case you should also be able to spend resource in economical upgrade.

overall good foundation for a casual game !
