the atmosphere was great ! however i couldnt do much against randy : ( i kept dying and he kept killing me before i can do damage to'em. anyways, i thoroughly enjoyed the vibe and aesthetic of the game ! wishing you the best ! < 3

we accidentally made it way too difficult. Pretty much you have to get him in the back by sneaking up or getting him more drunk so he falls over. Thanks for playing, and will do!

So I must've gotten lucky but on my first playthrough, I've explored so much of the maze and almost gotten comfortable with the environment and randy has scared the living shit out of me. The gameplay is really simple but I love the atmosphere, the colors and the sound design.

Btw, toggling full screen using the fullscreen button in the main menu causes the mouse to be captured 100% of the time on the web build. When I used the built in full screen button from godot it wasn't captured. I recommend you include a instruction about that in the games description :)

There’s a few different ways to capture the mouse with godot I learned after. That’s a new one!

Yeah, when exporting for web I recommend always capturing on click if it's not captured already captured.

Trying to capture in something like a _ready() function won't work because browser doesn't allow you to arbitrarily capture a mouse. What if you're for example at the bottom of the page, reading something when the capture is called, it can't allow that.

yeah sorry about that… it’s way too difficult. We didn’t get enough playtesting in so I had no idea how hard it actually was. Once jam is over we will put in a balancing patch

The visuals are so weird and cool! I've died so many times to Randy, how long does it take until it collapses? It feels like it never ends! Guy should be dead by now without my help.

Took a long break, and got  Randy eventually on the second attempt. Clearly not human.

I hope that hour is mostly the break part lol. We are aware that the map is wayyy too big and it can be super hard to find him so if we update the game it definitely will be shrunken and Randy will stay on the floor longer

Yeah, lol.  I think I would have gone mad playing for almost 2h. That said, it did take me over 15min, and I was already going mad. Maybe you could make it more obvious how drunk Randy is getting, so that the player feels like they are making progress.
And the timer should pause when the game is paused (I think I paused). I forgot to mention, there was a bug where I couldn't swing the knife when I came back, but it fixed itself once Randy got me.

Instead of making the map smaller, you could just cheat a little and teleport Randy nearby (as many times as needed) with more noise if the player is taking too long.  There are probably a lot of different valid solutions.

thank you for the insights. I added pausing super late into it and I now realize all the timers that are used for randy don't stop when paused... So that is a huge bug indeed. I wanted to add different animations when he was drunk like you said but ran out of time. I could teleport him thats true...

(Nvm the part about pausing with Randy is wrong, its just the game timer that doesn't work like you said)
