My game got 1096th place!! 🎉

Submitted

Lol, why was scratch chosen and not any other normal engine?

Developer

I only know how to use scratch and it was the only engine I have

Submitted

For a scratch game, this is really nice! Although I had some problems with attacking, it was still really cool!

Submitted

Nice variance in weapon functionalities. I have to say though that I did not really get when a button press actually leads to an attack and are attacks queues? Like I pressed space multiple times with the last weapon, then stopped and occasionally an attack went dont in the middle of the screen. The price was really worth it at the end ^^

Submitted

Well done! I especially liked the win screen and the different weapons. One feedback is that it felt unresponsive then attacking, perhaps a icon or progress bar shows then the attack delay is active. Keep going!

Submitted

An intresting range of weapons that feel and work differently. To improve, for the first weapon, reduce the delay before the attack as it sometimes feels like the game hasn't registered my input.

Submitted

Nice! Very cool with the various rounds and changes in weapons, the difficulty ramping up every round makes it challenging enough. Well done and keep it up!

thanks

Good work! I liked that there was a variety of weapons in the different levels. As feedback, a sound or visual effect for when the player gets hit would be nice. Also making the characters and enemies slightly smaller relative to the screen size would have made the game a bit more manageable.

Thanks for the feedback

Okay, First things first I'm assuming your new to game development based off the fact this is a scratch game and that scratch is a platform for kids so i will definitely be treating this as a scratch game and not a Proper game engine Game.

First off right off the Bat the game Gets significantly more difficult at level 2 and 3 and i had a tough time beating them, But one more thing i realized is that this is in Truth just a spam simulator and i was fine by just pressing Space again and again, And it would be fun to introduce other mechanics such as Walking and running and blocking attacks, And more enemies. But considering this is a Jam Game made on the scratch platform (and that your most likely a kid who wants to get into game dev) this is great and honest work. Although i would suggest that if you are serious about game dev as a career and are old enough then you should Switch over to the Unity Game engine or even simpler Godot/ GDevelope as its quite lightweight and Its pretty beginner friendly, Don't spend time on scratch if you know the basic scratch fundamentals because in the game dev world scratch just doesn't translate well.

As for the game: Rated 9/10 ( For a scratch game :D)

I hope you find success in every game you make in the future 😁 and remember, Don't be discouraged by anyone, Every dev starts out somewhere and even i started out in scratch :D

Also, C'mon man, all that trouble for a cookie From your pocket, Nah ill pass XD

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!!

I will consider using Unity or Godot :)

Submitted

Sure thanks, Also be sure to try out my submission as well, i made it in Unity as well for free because i made and designed everything myself :D

Developer

One question... Does Unity cost money?

Submitted

Nope, Its 100% free and the only times you have to spend money is if you need to buy custom assets from someone else (But u can probably find some for free anyways) and if you need to switch the software to dark mode then you need to pay some money then as well (I hate Light mode), and if you need to get rid of the watermark that appears at the start of your unity game. But Yeah other than these 3 small things its totally free and pretty easy to get used to and its one of the best and most Friendly Free 3D engines out there if you want to make actually good 3D games (Godot is more for 2D and their 3D is really bad in my opinion)

Hope this helps :D

Nice work on this one! The mechanics were interesting and I could see the effort that went into it. Cool to see new ideas being tried out

Developer

Thanks!

This is my first time making a game like this

Submitted

haha very cool it's the first time I see someone dev on scratch for a game jam

Developer

Thank You :)

Submitted

the only game made on scratch, great job!!

Developer

thanks

Submitted

Very cute game! It doesn't fit the theme that well in my opinion, but my game has that same problem as well!

Submitted

It's nice little game. Maybe it could have been more challenging?

Developer

Have you tried v1.0 yet?

Submitted (1 edit)

Congratulations on entering your first jam! Its a Decent idea, though some collision and timing can be a bit weird. Overall good job

Submitted

Not a bad game for your first jam entry. Found collisions to be a little off. Good job.

Hi. I see post that you look in feedback. For me, visual and animations is not matter, just gameplay. You can make you game better if you increase field and change some enemy AI. For now, all enemies move to hero by a straight line, and it is a simple tactics when you move around field. You can, for example, make 1/3 of enemies move random, 1/3 move to you by straight line and 1/3 move by circle line. Sorry for my english, I am not a native speaker.

Developer

I made this in Scratch...

Developer

Also it's ok not to be native to english
