This game is really cute! There's a lot of clothing options while all still feeling cohesive to the overall style of the game. The art and music is all wonderfully done, and the little details in the environment really tie everything together. The little collectibles are nice and help this game solidify in the theme. The only issue I've found is that the resolution seems a little big on the web version. I had to zoom out on my browser to see the whole game. Overall, the game is absolutely amazing! Super fantastic job!
Thanks so much for playing!~ And yeah aha a few people have mentioned the resolution. Definitely something for us to update post-jam!
OMG this game is soooooo dope ! I love the aesthetic, everything is so cool !! (your art style is amazing) If you do updates I would love to see various characters ! Well done 🎉 (quick tip : I had to zoom out on my browser because the game was taking too much space, in Godot you can use "canvas" option for the window sizing, it mean that you can display your game at various sizes and it will keep the game ratio)
Thank you, I appreciate the tip! I remember having some last minute trouble getting the game to work in browser (turned out to be an issue with audio streaming compatibility) so window sizing got left out in the cold haha. Definitely something to adjust post-jam!
Cool idea, fantastic execution!!!
Super fun integration of the dress up game, loved finding around the collectibles and everything was super cohesive and well integrated. The art style was super on point and precise for the storytelling. The layering aspect was interesting as well as the drag of collectibles (the patches a bit too big but prolly a me issue). Everything was super responsive. Punk clothing and style super inspired as well ~
The screen resolution was a bit odd and a fullscreen would have been welcome, as well as more settings for like audio control.
Had a lot of fun with this one, thank you so much for the submission <3
Thanks for trying it out! <3 And good point about sound and window sizing. Definitely something to adjust post-jam.
I think there's a few adjustments to be made with the drag and drop anyway, so I'll give some more thought to the patches. I can see how they might be a little big. Will confer with the team on that one haha
I think this dress up game has my favourite UI. It is so immersive! I don't think it is inherently a bad thing but in a lot of dress up games you feel like you're locked inside a box and the UI is there to just sort out and organise the clothes. I really liked how in your game I felt I was properly shopping and browsing a store, sorting through hangars... The collectibles were a cool thing to add. They worked well with the concept of going through the store and the reward of using them to customise your outfit more was great. The art and fashion was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the wide variety of pieces to pick from. I also thought the detail on the make up being stackable was great.
We were going for the feeling of browsing a thrift store (in its idealized form where everything is a perfect fit) so I appreciate that! I know AstralLamb put a lot of thought into the clothing layers and layered makeup effects in particular~<3
The game is very cohesive in art style and music. The clothes, accessories and make-ups are also very unique, it's really fun to try them all. I was able to click the collectibles "area" multiple times even after picking up, so I had 11/6 XD
Thanks for checking out the game <3 And for noting the bug too~ since one of the other commenters mentioned it earlier, I've implemented a fix. It will be updated once the voting period is over!
A lot of customization options for the dress-up! I like that alongside the "dress-up" gameplay was trying to explore the store for the collectables (which act as cool pins to your outfit!). I especially love the UI buttons which look like they're rendered in 3D but it reminds me of old 2000 games or analog buttons found on toys.
Thank you!~ Nicholai definetly nailed it for the early 2000’s vibe for the UI 🤩 Our inspiration boards were filled to the brim with Y2K tech and toys hehe
The art is amazing and there was a good selection of items!! I also liked how you can layer multiple things from the same category! Would have liked the collected items to affect the gameplay more.
Thank you so much! We are definitely eager to try to get back into developing more aspects of the game after the jam when time allows! I love the idea of the collectables having adding an extra effect to the game ðŸ¤ðŸ’•✨
i love all the customisation options 4 dif types of makeup, clothing + accessories ! rlly thoughtful n wut i want in a dress up game aha ! the vibe is set nicely w the art + multiple songs, u can rlly feel the love n effort put in2 in the illustration <3 the setting presentation is also so fun n feels like a real place w the radio playing n.n luv the floopy kaoemoji @ the beginning too! ฅ^>⩊<^ ฅ
Awh, thank you- getting that retro thrift store vibe right was a big goal of ours! (and I agree, AstralLamb worked really hard and did an amazing job with the layered outfits and makeup imo~) Grateful for the emoji appreciation too haha (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
This game has a really cool style, and everything in this game seems to matches that. The only issue i faces is that im not too sure where should i go after the changing background scene, I love how you hide the collectibles in the map and overall its a great game, nice work :>
Thank you for the kind words! <3 The changing background scene is as far as you can go for the moment. We had limited time to work on a jam game between all our other responsibilities, so we opted for something small and achievable that we could finish with a bit of polish. We did discuss coming back post-jam to add some additional elements (maybe even narrative elements) so the framework is there. Hopefully we do get that chance!
Incredible theming and very 2000s girly game in a very queer way!
Great job, really enjoyable, music was excellent and very on theme, love the messaging in the collectibles too. Think this could be expanded further into a larger game.
Thank you for giving it a try! We did discuss the possibility of adding to the game after the jam was over. I hope we get a chance to develop it more~
Really cool aesthetic, artwork, and music! I just wish there were more customization to the player character. I also couldn't figure out how to get past the "selfie" screen, I was able to click buttons from the wardrobe in that scene, and the cash register collectible kept adding up when I clicked it so I got 300/5 collectibles.
Huh, thanks for letting us know! The bug you mention is really odd- I'd like to see if I can replicate it and figure out how that happened so we can get things more polished post-jam~
The selfie screen has a large "back to shop" button- did that show up on your screen? And about the cash register collectible- did it disappear from the shop screen when you collected it? I'm wondering if some kind of browser-related delay in animations could be causing unexpected behaviour.
Edit: Ah, I can see what happened with the endless collectable bug! Fortunately that's a quick fix. Not sure about the shop screen though- I think I'd need a little more info to replicate that one.
So awesome. The collection of clothing and accessories is amazing, there's such variety while feeling cohesive. I feel like I'm the hottest thing this imaginary small town has ever seen. Watch out, city punks.
Thank you for sharing your outfits with us- those are some great combinations! 100% agree those city punks won't know what hit em' <3
Finally, there's a dress-up game with punk clothes!
Haha YES we need more!~ <3
This is such a pretty game ! I kinda wish the collection mechanic about the hidden collectibles had more impact in the gameplay but else it's great ! And I loved the fact that some makeup and accessories can be used layered to create new visuals
I totally agree that it would be fun to give the collectibles a bit more impact! Maybe a post-jam project~ Thank you for trying our game <3
This game is so well made and aesthetically pleasing, you've done an amazing job ~
Thank you! ✶⋆.˚
Amazing! The art is so great, and love the ability to stack certain accessories for combinations. Also the shaders for the selfie backgrounds are really well-done. We enjoyed trying to find all the collectables!
Thank you for playing our game! I'm also very impressed with all the thought AstralLamb put into the item layers <3 Glad the retro shaders were a hit too haha
This game was so cool! The art is absolutely STUNNING! <3
Thank you for trying it out~<3
