Thank you so much to everyone who played and rated my game! ♥
fun game the pixel art and the audio area awsome and the retro feeling of this, it feels like a gameboy game
the GMTK boy was really CUUUUUTTEE!
I like the theming, you did a really good job catching the Gameboy aesthetic music and overall vibe.
The controls, damage, feedback and shooting all felt good.
But the looping mechanic was unfortunately more frustrating than fun, but a good experiment for a jam.
Nice choice in music and I like the Gameboy aesthetic! The looping movement was interesting though at times felt a little difficult to control. Pretty good game, though I unfortunately didn’t make it far since I’m bad at this kind of game 😅
It's a pretty tough one! I appreciate the feedback on the movement, and thank you for playing my game! ♥
I liked it:)
I thank you! :)
I love the gameboy theme as well as the art and music!
I appreciate that! I'm proud of the presentation. C:
Really well made all around! Really satisfying to land hits on enemies from far away by timing the loop arc. And just really well done on the gameboy aesthetic, awesome job on this!
Thank you so much! ♥
A game about horrors of drunk driving, especially when the driver has a bomb
I just say for the future try not to spread controls so much. There are no reason the only two buttons you have being half a keyboard apart from each other. Make it like a spacebar and a B key or something
Fair enough! If I'd had enough time, I'd have added the option to remap the controls, but game jam gonna game jam! Thank you for playing, and for the feedback! ♥
The artwork in this game is exceptional! You nailed those retro Game Boy vibes.
I’m excited to see more mechanics added in the future!
Thank you so much for playing! :D ♥
I'm really impressed with how immersive both the itch.io page and the game are! It's harder than I expected and definitely takes some practice, but it's a fun game for sure. Art looks great, music fits perfectly, the screen effects add a lot to the feel of the game, and gameplay is interesting. So far this is my favorite game I've tried from this jam!
I noticed that a lot of your credits is just 8 bit sound effects. Have you seen the tool SFXR? It's a free tool for generating simple retro sound effects, and was originally developed for use in game jams. The original page is here, but someone has ported it to an online JavaScript version here called JSFXR.
Thank you so much! Yeah, I think a lot of the difficulty comes from that the looping motion forces you out of your normal shmup instincts in terms of how you react to things. Like you have to be conscious of where you are in the loop when you go to, say, dodge a shot, because if you can dodge in the direction of the loop, you'll move further and faster, whereas if you fight the loop, you'll struggle and stay in place. It's like riding a backward bicycle. C: I appreciate the kind words on the page and presentation! I'm very happy with how they came out, and I'm glad everyone seems to enjoy the style. Your favorite game of the jam so far is a huge compliment! I am humbled. ♥
And thank you for the tip on SFXR! I haven't heard about that before, but I'm definitely going to grab it now and put it in my toolbox for future game projects! You're a boss, friend!
I love the itch page. Super cool. I'll have to try it out and see if I can beat my score while using a controller later 😂
Thank you! I think the best I've seen so far is Wave 15, Rank 40. Appreciate the kind words! ♥
I absolutely dig the GameBoy aesthetic! The art and sound design are pretty spot on! And quite a funny take on the loop theme!
Thank you so much! ♥
Really nice vibe! Fantastic gameplay, although it's quite hard to control the character. But overall its fantastic!
Exactly! It goes against your shmup instincts, like trying to learn to steer a car in reverse! Thank you so much for playing! ♥
