It took me a little while to figure out how to start and use the loop — pretty cute overall! For some reason, the rabbit looked a bit blurry to me, but maybe it’s just on my end.

Backfire - Game Jam EditionThanks so much for playing! Yeah unfortunately the blur is because of the trashy way I coded collisions - which was essentially:
if (player X = ground X) then (player X + 1) every step
I haven't done a lot of work with platformer collisions before and obviously didn't have a lot of time for this specific game 😅 I thought it looked okay once the rabbit was moving so I wasn't super bothered but I might try to fix it now the jam is over.
Cool concept with really cute pixel art. It's pretty short, but it's fun to do tricks to build up speed. And I really like the animation for completing (or failing) the loop.

ConsoleLoopFun game, the pixel art is really nice and having all the grindable objects is a neat touch. I think this might just be an issue on my part judging by the other comments, but I wasn't sure how to enter the loop area, I tried pressing "a" or "A" to enter but that wasn't working and I spent a bit of time hitting a lot of buttons on the keyboard haha, I think maybe the pixel font confused me a lot

Concrete Tweet (Jam Version)Thanks so much for the good feedback! Sorry you had trouble entering The Loop! To enter The Loop, you actually just have to press 'A' somewhere in your run (it doesn't have to line up with the entranceway). Under the hood, pressing 'A' just toggles the loop entry on/off, but that was a little complicated to explain in-game... So I just hoped that worst case, people would mash A when they go past!
Really cool little game, once I got the hang of it was really satisfying to keep building up the speed on the little rabbit. I love the design too, very cute and good colour combo of the yellow hoodie and blue trousers.
I like that the loop is always lurking in the background, constantly taunting you to see if you've built up enough speed to complete the loop, was a nice touch.
