Hello! Not gonna lie, I gave this game a pretty high rating. Not because It's one of the best ones, but because it manages to be perfectly all-rounded, delivering perfectly a lot of the aspects of a videogame.

The gameplay loop is pretty addictive: buying and selling items is really fun.

I have to say though after the second playtrough I realised the player doesn't have a lot of control over the game: most of your gains are guided by luck, so if you don't find items on discount or items you can sell later at a higher prize, you'll inevitably lose by taxes at a certain point. I felt like my second playtrough was impossible to beat (unless I knew in advance the discounts and required items for events), but admittedly I made a blunder later in the run (still, I blame RNG) but I still think I couldn't have managed it anyways.

HOLY POLISH!!! this is amaaazing i want this expanded into a full game!! lowk would work great on mobile idk what ur plans are for this game but i could see this doing really well. it's a great loop and it's a lot of fun learning how the systems work while going through each loop!! making smart trades is hard but super fun to figure out! the art and music is also super great this game is awesome. is there a way to skip the cutscene at the beginning i wanna play more but it makes it slow to restart T-T. ANYWAY super amazing i can't wait to see more!

thank you so much for the kind words Penni!

We are planning a post-jam version with some tweaks and fixes, and so we’ll add a skip intro just for you (and for everyone else, but mostly for you)

Feel free to add more suggestions you’d like to see, cheers :)

I love this game, it's so charming and addiction, I felt like a real marchant traveling in the desert with decision to make in my inventory. Would love to be able to rearange my inventory though. Very well done !

A beautiful game, looks and sounds great, including the UI. My main gripe is a lack of agency over my options, some runs it felt out of hands whether I lost or not. But great idea, well executed!

Oh wow this game feels so so polished, super fun to play, reminds me a bit of one of the games from last year, although I cannot remember its title. Keep up the good work guys!

Woah, this is gorgeous!! I haven't seen that kind of angular line art in a game before and it works so well! Really striking. The theme and the world are really distinct - I love how all of the characters have likes and dislikes, how you're trying to save your camel instead of getting the most money, and how you slowly progress through the loop while the wistful music plays. It gives such a unique to the experience. The take on the concept is clever too, going around the loop lets you get invested into the world and rewards you for paying attention!

Relentry, thank you for making it!!

Really cool game, atmospheric graphics and a truly impressive overall level of polish. It was a pleasure to play ❤️  It’s fun to see the same idea for a theme executed in such a completely different way 😁 Congratulations!

wonderful game! had lots of fun. I loved how polished the game felt, though I couldn't skip the beginning cutscene, even after clicking the play again button

I love the high level of polish, and there’s a great strategy in learning the board, then planning ahead the next loop (sell valuables to preserve their value for the taxmen, keep a few hammers and mattresses in case of travellers, etc.). I like the inventory management too, although I wish I could rearrange it myself. Since it relied entirely on auto-placement, the game often told me I couldn’t carry something when it could clealry fit with some re-jigging.

Another critique is that it’s pretty easy to get stuck. The flower drains your stamina fast, and if the game doesn’t give you enough food you’re basically screwed. I also noticed what is probably a bug - my first attempt, I made it to the taxmen without enough money or items to pay them off… and the game just never let me leave the screen. I had to restart the game. Personally, I would make failures like these something more interesting than an instant death, but if you prefer this way, at least make a proper death screen so it doesn’t feel like a softlock :)

Overall, a solid strategy game with some great theming!

Very polished game!  I wish there was a way to rearrange your and traders' items.  Good job!
