The concept is fun and very easy to understand. Had a good time planning my routes to optimize reward/danger. The reduced art style also matches the game very well.

I think the mechanics need some tweaks to make it a bit less frustrating, at the moment it feels unfair at times. My main issue is that enemies can spawn inside your train and spawning skulls fire the moment they show up. In these cases you just lose health without any possibility to avoid it. This could easily be addressed with a collision detection before spawning enemies and a timed delay for the shooting.

Wow that was amazing!

I like the idea of creating the tracks first then controlling the turret of the train. The game could be a bit faster or more difficult, but for a game jam, this was pretty impressive!

I loved the idea! The game is fun, but it could have been better paced, which is perfectly understandable for a game jam. It took me a while to unlock my first upgrade, and the game suddenly became very difficult. A few minor tweaks and more content and this could be a full release game!

Great idea and use of the Jam theme! Sometimes it is a bit unfair when enemies spawns nearby you (I know the player can choose his path but sometimes it inevitable) and maybe the price of the first upgrades should be lower. The rest of the game was really cool!

Honestly really enjoyed my time with this! It just seems like it could be so much fun once mastered!

Also the stealth round masks are so strong ;-;

Developer(+1)

Yeah never underestimate the enemy especially with a shotgun :D

Ooooh I like the idea of the roguelike train-builder!

It's a fun spin on the roguelike mechanics, and nice that you added interactibility while the train is on the loop to fight off the enemies. One small piece of feedback is that at the start I didn't actually realise I could shoot them, so just needs a small tooltip to let the player know they can fight them off!

We're also big roguelike fans, and built a deckbuilder for our jam game. Would love your feedback if you want more choose 1-of-3 things fun!

Developer(+1)

Sure, I'll have a look :) If you're interested we've got another roguelite game in production atm, feel free to join our discord and hail me if you want to playtest it (in a few weeks).

Thanks - would love to hear what you think.

And yes absolutely send me the discord link, would be happy to playtest it!

Hey - I just went to join the discord but it looks like I left it too long and the invite expired. Would you be able to send me a new one?

This was a ton of fun and tightly designed!  I love the tradeoffs and stacking as you gain abilities, and I also love that you gave me something to do while the loop was playing out; a lot of loop-simulation games in the jam had me frozen during it.  The music, sounds, and interaction feel also slap.  Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Very fun game with an interesting blend of ideas and concepts.

A small suggestion, maybe make it so enemies cant shoot or hurt you for a short period of time after spawning.

Developer (1 edit)

That's a good idea! I've written  it down :)

I enjoyed this game. One thing I was confused about was the powerup that gave me a turret that I could control with my own mouse, I thought I had that from the beginning.

It would also be nice to know how long I have left at each point before the train continues. Really cool concept though, well done!

Your game is really fun, i have not much to say. Just its cool to know you got more turrets ideas but i had some rounds were i can choose only non implemented turret. And this was frustrating because it broke the game progression and upgrade of the train

Developer

Yeah that's sad to have those features begging for being implemented (even if I'm quite glad with the workload we've both put into that jam). What level did you reached? :)

Submitted(+1)

I died at level 4 ! The difficulty spiked, i didn't was prepared for it !

Train fighting simulator 2025 let's gooo! (Awesome game really depicts the struggles of public transport.

Loved the moving-tower-defense aspect!) :D

Developer

Thanks ^^

I had a lot of fun with this game, the idea is cool and original! Congrats on the great work. I ran into some unimplemented cards, and it would’ve been awesome to reach that point and see them in action. Hope you keep working on it after the jam!

Developer

Thanks for the kind comment :) Well unimplemented cards still do stuff but no as we intended indeed. Glad you enjoyed it! Heee we're thinking about it as we enjoyed it to do :) so why not if ppl like the idea!

Submitted(+1)

its fun concept

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the concept and had a lot of fun playing it. It was a shame to see the unimplemented turrets, they sounded interesting. And I agree with another comment I saw regarding the cost of upgrades, maybe a faster pace would have been better for a jam game. But in any case, this was a great game, with a lovely soundtrack and sprite art. Good job!

Developer

Yeah we've discussed it and we should have given some money rewards for killing skulls too. You should get your first cart after 1 level at least, not taking too much distance and then increment on that basis. And a speed button if needed :D  Thanks for having a try!

I wish there was a fastforward button. great game nonetheless!

Yup, I agree :3

I really liked the strategic side of planning your train’s route while managing upgrades — it kept me thinking a few moves ahead. The pacing at the start felt a bit slow, but once things picked up, the mix of enemy variety, art, and music made it a lot of fun.

This is really fun to play and really challenging on a certain level (especially when you try to save money for bigger bought ahah)

Great Audio and artwork, clever loop and intuitive gameplay - all round masterclass in making the game easily accessible with a clever loop mechanic. The projectiles were eventually the death of me though.
