I've never really played these types of games but I tried this out. I like the idea and graphics but I just wasn't able to wrap my head around what was going on in time (why I should keep x, discard x, play X, etc.) enough to want to keep playing. It feels well done if you're into those types of games it just wasn't my thing.

As a card game enthusiast I enjoyed this game very much! A deck building game is nothing very innovative but I think you brought some very nice twists to this type of card games. What amazes me most is how polished and very well balanced this game is. This is an excellent work for this short amount of time! Congratulations to a very cool deck building game!

Wow! This game is  pretty solid. I'm not a card games fan, but it was interesting for me to play :)

I like the diversity of card types and the upgrade mechanics. The UI sound is nice and pleasant, however, I wish there were some background music. Overall, very good and  interesting to play game

Thanks! I agree about the lack of music, I really wanted some ambient music in the background but it fell to the way side to make sure the core mechanics & a decent amount of the card content got done.

I took a couple of stabs at it, but I'm a terrible at getting song ideas out of my head and into any composition tools, and nothing I found online with the right licenses quite hit the mark for me tone wise. :(

Wow that was really great! I spent a few runs trying the different add in decks and getting the hang of the upgrade curve. All the different mechanics feed into each other really nicely. I liked that I did not have health and the rift was building up as well as being overrun as a failure. The ending rampped up harder than my deck was prepared for the first time so it felt like a real achievement to finally defeat them all. There is so much content in this game, the different add in decks and the different win conditions. I really hope you carry on, there is a solid game here!

Thanks! I did manage to code the engine in a way that adding new player or rift cards is relatively simple (a couple JSON file updates, add some art, add functions for any new card mechanics, add to deck generation algorithm). We'll see if the motivation to continue development on this manifests itself for me going forward!

I really enjoyed this game, longest play so far so ill pass on  a few things of note. I really like the way you use weapons, although it took me a bit to figure out. The end goal "rift" thing was a bit confusing, I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be working towards so I just shot monsters.  Every time I attempted to grab a card from HQ it would be discarded so the money felt pointless as all it did was upgrade cards I couldn't use.  Still was fun, thanks.

The game does unfortunately lean a bit on mechanics established by other deck building games, making it hard to know how much needs explaining. I lean towards not over tutorializing games as I feel like players naturally discovering mechanics and interactions within the game themselves is part of the fun of gaming.

Because of this I'm actually glad that the lack of over explained end-goal led you to work towards the end goal naturally (don't get overrun by cards from the rift deck). There is a help section available in the corner of the game screen that will explain some of the verbs / actions the cards perform, as well as high level objective information for those who want it however.

As for the discard pile, this could've been more clearly indicated to the player through animations on my part.
When your deck runs out, the discard pile is shuffled and made into your new deck. This means cards you buy make their way into you deck / hand after that re-shuffle (the base deck is only 2 hands long [12 cards]). This mechanic is to have the player think more about what cards they will need going forward, not just what they need right now, since this game can last 40+ turns.
