How does your game fit the theme?
We are on a looping highway in a high-speed police chase! Tap real fast to escape! Inspired by good old Slot car toys :) If you find the game too hard, combine W + space to get a speed boost!

Fun game! I really like that you get a hint of the upcoming obstacles, which helps you prepare despite the fast pace. Nice work!

this kinda cool game and easy to understand really fit well in game jam.

If possible, can you please try my game and leave a comment too?

Short and sweet. Always like seeing action games in Jams. The Tazer Car is a cool concept and i like the lane switching mechanic, though i wish the camera would let me see ahead a bit more.

Mashing the spacebar felt hard at the start but you get used to it! took me a few tries to win. cool game!

ZOOOOOOOM! I. AM. SPEED.
Really nice game, would love to be the cop car and chase my friends

Enjoyed the game, sometimes it felt like it was too difficult to outrun the police at the start, but once you were started, it was really fun to try and evade the police and the obstacles on the ground.

Beautiful game and so much fun! Took me a bit to get the hang of it, but I feel the dopamine rush. Graphics are really nice and satisfying. Great game, well done!

Well done!

Heyy great game! Feels nice and polished. Really liked that the game starts right where the cars are while on menu. Only thing to nitpick was that when you replay it would be cool if you didn't have to go through the whole menu again :). Gj on the jam!

neat concept, great job!

Nice job, the art and feel of the game is very well polished. You definitely need to press multiple keys to pick up speed though haha, seems like a simple fix though. Good work :)

Developer

thx for trying me game! Yeah while testing i was so used to it that to me the current settings seemed easy with 1 button lol will be sure to make it easier on full release

I absolutely loved the visuals and had hoped I would get to see at least two tracks, but considering the time, it was a great submission, even though a bit too easy.

Nice entry! I have a little issue with the ui, the win and loose ui overlapped. But congratulations for the great work!

Interesting take on the theme. Being able to use both acceleration keys together helped a lot.

Wow visuals are.. just amazing!

Nice game, its fun! The controls are a bit strange, but they re not bad either.

I don't know if the intended way is to I play with both hands on keyboard, in this case would be a nice addition to be possible to hit replay with the same accelerate button, instead of using the mouse.

I beat it quickly when I found out is possible to use both W and SPACE at the same time, gotta go fast baby! B)

Love the idea! Feel like you could keep developing this into a full game for mobile

I did not enjoy having to tap really fast to gain speed. This felt like it didn't add a ton to the game and was just frustrating to figure out at first and keep focusing on. But this could just be me. I hate those Mario Party mini games and always lose at them lol

I found dodging the obstacle much more enjoyable. I would keep adding more obstacles and try to make it into an endless runner. I wonder too if you could have more than 2 lanes. But maybe that becomes too confusing to switch because you are constantly changing your orientation

I'm usually a bit hesitant to download games, but the graphics convinced me and I didn’t regret it. It looks awesome and plays great, and I even managed to outrun the police 🚓💨 This is definitely something you could develop further. Great job! 👏

The idea of tapping to accelerate the car while escaping from the police is nice, and the audio adds a lot to the tension.

That said, I did find a few things a bit challenging. The tapping mechanic is cool, but having to constantly tap to build speed made it tough to even finish a single loop, the police kept catching me really quickly. It might help if the game started off a bit easier in the first few loops, and then gradually increased the difficulty, like speeding up the police car or adding more police as you progress. That would give players time to get into the rhythm before facing tougher challenges.

One other thing I noticed, when you press "Retry" after getting caught, it seems to restart the entire game as if you have exited and relaunched it. It would feel smoother if it just returned the player to the title screen or started the run again more seamlessly.

Lastly, and this is just a personal suggestion, the police siren sound could be more dynamic. Right now it’s a single loop, but adding variation would help it feel even more immersive. Aside from that, I really liked the escape concept.
