How does your game fit the theme?
Loop stitching is a popular technique for crochet, so I thought it'd be fun to make a silly little game about crocheting!

"Uhps" xD Nice game, had a good time playing it!

Good work, difficulty ramped up at a nice pace. Once the scarf hits the bottom of the screen I don't feel my progress quite as much and it then just becomes a number. Knitting was one of the ideas I had written down at the start so it's nice to see someone do it.

tight lil rhythm game :) cool character and easy to get into the rhythm of it further along! Great job!

Fun take on the theme! It's a little bit weird to use gamepad symbols to use on keyboard, I was a little confused at first. Gameplay works well otherwise.

Please avoid using copyrighted materials in the futur tho. The reference to guitar hero is fun, but you can't use their logo/font.

Great job still!

I was hoping to see someone make a knitting related game! I really like the idea, and I think it was executed in your game fairly well. Does this game have controller support? I found the control scheme a bit difficult on keyboard, but then I realized it was probably for a controller. I would suggest changing the letters for keyboard controls so they're closer together, like "A", "S", "D", "F" or something similar.

Overall, a very cute and enjoyable game!

Nice interpretation of the theme! I loved the little "Oops" on every missed stitch, it reminded me of when I'm crocheting :D

This might be me nitpicking but there are some UI issues on the how to section, the button overlaps the text making some parts of the text unreadable.. other than that it was an enjoyable game, and as other have said it was diabolical using the controller button layout on a keyboard.

interesting way to interpret the theme! very cute character!! when i saw the controller icons i thought "do i need a controller for this?? can i just use my keyboard??" and the fact that you *have* to use the keyboard made me giggle. cute!!

Controls are awkward, but a nice little game. I'm very interested to see how more advanced knitting/crochet techniques might be translated into rhythm game gameplay

(my longest scarf was 61.10 inches)

How the heck did you get 61 lol

I could only do 21.9 lmao

Thank you very much for playing! I hope to mess around with this idea further outside the constraints of a game jam!
Impressive score too by the way!

A very literal interpretation of loop! The sound effect for missing a letter was excellent.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad even messing up could be fun!

It's really evil to put just the controller letters and then having only keyboard support ahah

Developer

I am truly sorry, but at least it avoids the inevitable confusion of where the X button belongs on a controller!

Funny thing is that it detects it too, so I stayed there pressing random buttons tthinking they were weirdly mapped ahahah

Nice use of theme! The game was oddly satisfying as you saw the fabric getting longer and longer as you stitched. i also appreciated the play on "guitar hero" with the title. great job!

Thank you kindly!

We also got to the idea of crocheting from the theme of Loop, but it's interesting to see how different your take on translating that to game mechanics was.

It's a neat little game. I think you achieved your goal of keeping it simple and defeating scope creep very well. I personally always have trouble adding that one more feature.

The rhythm game part feels very smooth, and the increasing difficulty with time is implemented well. I can feel the effort that went into polishing that part.

Maybe random but I love your "Oops" SFX as well. I know it's supposed to be a failure sound, but the voice saying it is so melodic xD

Developer

Thank you so much! My playtester described the "Oops" as a jumpscare so I'm glad you felt differently!
