I absolutely love the art in your game and the music is mesmerizing! Impressive that you made this by yourself in just four days :D I wish there was a health bar for the main character and not just for the plant (or maybe I missed it?). In any case, I think you should keep developing this into a full game and keep making games in this minimal pixel style!
This is brilliant! I love the presentation idea. The music also does a fantastic job of setting the mood for a post-apocalyptic world.
Very cool game, love the visuals, it reminds me of Minit (I've been wanting to play something like it for a while now haha), I lost a couple of times before reaching the end, I'm glad there is a checkpoint so I didn't need to start all over haha, very nice game, I'd like to see it expanded into a full adventure!
very cute game! The art style is very nice and the world was very captivating. Passing by the old buildings really gave a good sense of the state the world was in and how important it was to keep lil bud alive.
My only feedback is it was a little hard to understand the health bars at first, and fighting the bugs off was a little clunky. Doesn't detract from the obvious quality you put into this one, though!
WOW. Just WOW. I love this SO much. :O <3
I love the simplistic palette and art style. It's so effective. The environment and atmosphere... and just level of immersiveness that you've managed to create with such a simplistic style is so impressive.
I felt so bad for 'little bud' every time I failed him. :(
So much emotion and sense of story in this entry.
I also liked how you took the idea of 'loop' to also give the player a chance to figure things out each 'cycle'. Like each time I lost the plant, I was sad, but there was also an equal 'Aha' moment of discovery.
I think my only note of feedback was I didn't know how much health I had. I loved that I had to keep choosing to fight the bugs or shade my plant, and I had to keep going back and forth in that stressful moment, but then I died suddenly and had to restart again, and at that point, didn't feel like getting the water again. :-[] :,-( So I didn't continue.
Overall, really really well done.
What a cute game!! Love it. The presentation is gorgeous. Great job!
As for my feedback, the last thing you have to do is a bit too unexpected/sudden, so it's hard to be sure as a player that that is the intended route. Maybe the solution would be to make the player take care of both themselves and the plant across multiple days, until one day there are not enough resources for both of them, and the player has to make a difficult decision.
Apart from the obvious similarity to Minit, I'd also like to draw some comparison to The Stillness of the Wind.
Once again, well done! Making a game in such a short span of time is a feat and you nailed it. :)
this was super cute! I loved the art and the choice to only give the plant colour :)
i got a little confused how to stop the weather, but i decided to just stop it with my little guy and that turned out to be the right choice! and i'd do it again for my little bud!
the style of this was also super neat, i really liked how you framed it :)
Great little game, fantastic work!
I think the graphics and the idea are really amazing! You did such a good job! I just didn't really understand what to do. Would be nice to have some sort of hint system or tutorial if you want to develop this game further in the future! It definitely has potential!
A melancholy little take on the theme - love the Minit inspiration, and well done on picking up aseprite for the jam! This is a neat solo entry that has a lot of love behind it. I agree with the comment below that maybe things could be a little clearer for first time players, but that's definitely something you could add in after the jam period if you wished.
Really cute game with a nevertheless sad vibe 🌱🌱
This is a charming little game with a concept that's kind of heartbreaking if you really think about it. I think you can gleam a lot from environmental storytelling, like how the player has to repurpose a satellite dish for shade and how generally rundown everything looks. The ending is also rather bittersweet in my opinion. I do wish the game was longer, but it's not a big deal considering we all only had 96 hours to make our games. Well done :)
