Are you, as a company, planning to refund your customers? Or are you planning to just rob us?

As pointed out in the rules of this category, you can't get an official answer on the forum. I think games you've bought should remain available in your library. If any games have to be removed altogether due to creators breaking the site rules on purpose, such cases should be handled like before. Please contact support if you want to make sure.

I guess it's irrelevant saying 'creators breaking the site rules on purpose' for rules which didn't exist when making a deal. So I see no way to handle such cases 'like before' as this is a precedent.

Just to point out that the developers who made the games will be the ones getting the financial hit for refunds. They didn't ask for it and their games were distributed and sold in good faith and in accordance with the rules at the time. Yes, the customers are getting screwed but so will the developers, especially if itch decide to mass refund people.

I think you're missing my point. Itch needs to refund us for anything they remove out of their own coffers.

if the user can prove that it was itch that removed the purchased content, then yes itch should be responsible. Like screenshots showing the download page shows no content, and the developer telling the user that they did not remove any content.

this shows that you can still download the game files (unless there is a blank page when you press the download button)

I had to do some digging, but I found this page that we as customers can use before complaining to support and asking for refunds.
