Loved this so much! Would love to see this improved into a full blown pigeon tycoon game!

Developer

This may or may not be something I'm looking into! I want to expand the Pigeon Mafia universe going forward

The wacky vibes were brilliant, and I absolutely loved the voice acting it was superb. As someone who has made a pizza game before I can appreciate such a thing - my main critique would be that only having one customer at a time kind of loses the frantic chaos of other games like this which leads to some repetition... otherwise a really fun and goofy entry! Well done :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Honestly I wanted to have it be up to 3 customers but I was having some headaches with queueing (a bit ashamed to admit that but it is what it is, that's the reality of development sometimes LMAO). I'm going to do some refactoring next month and try to improve upon this a lot and hopefully release it with a lot of the features I had to scrap for time management :) thank you for trying the game and I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

pigeon mafia rules bro, really fun game and the comedy on it is pure gold.
Congrats on the submission!

Developer

Thank you so much!! I'm really glad people liked the humour in this game :)

10/10 from a former pizza professional. I loved the voice over comments, the gameplay flow felt great once you got the hang of it. I was able to assemble pizzas at amazing rates, just like the old days. Super fun, well done!

Developer

This may just be the best seal of approval I've gotten so far! LMAO I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) hope it was able to bring you back the thrills of your prime pizza making days (hopefully you weren't working for the Pigeon Mafia though!)

Making pizza for talking pigions to launder money… I like whatever this is you’ve cooked. 🧀/10

Developer(+1)

Thank you LMAO The pigeon mafia reign supreme!

I loved the game! The audio was great with the little comments give by the customers and the controls felt great but i think it would've been nice to maybe have some sort of time limit so the game doesn't last forever if you play perfectly. Great job!

Developer

I'm actually planning on working on this next month, starting with a complete refactor of the code and this is something which I'll be implementing! Everyone's feedback has been so good and really motivated me to want to do this project justice :) hopefully I'll be able to release this fully sometime!

What a quirky premise. it's really fun, feels very original and polished!

Developer

Thank you so much :)

Loved this.
Out of all the games I tested out this jam this one I'll recommend a few friends try too :)

- I like how well all the assets fit together
- Nailed the core loop
- Seeing the pizza get incrementally more complete exclusively from player actions is very satisfying
- Really funny voice lines and great delivery on them. Once I made one mistake and had the pigeon react to it I had to try out what other funny voicelines I could trigger.
- Love the funny premise

Wishlist/Random ideas as tribute:
- Wish there was an appropriately humorous way to consult current pigeon's impatience.
- Noticed a money score tally at the end but didn't see it midgame, would be fun to watch your score increase as you go if the final goal is a score chase. Wondered if the game had an ending but assumed not.

- Weird that you can jump but not do anything with it. Wish you could escape the counter for a bad/weird/funny escape the system ending.
- Always like the kind of inputs that don't serve a real purpose other than player expression, especially in loops where there is some downtime (waiting for the pizza). Jumping gives you something to fiddle with but it doesn't feel inherently pigeony or mafia pigeony. I'd love a funny button to just coo or do something only a pigeon does or only a mafia pigeon does :)

Thank you for trying out the game as well as the really in-depth response!! :)

The voice lines were a little detail I loved working on, I think I have a unique voice line for each possible way you can fail making the piece (as long as you specifically only got 1 thing wrong), but I feel I made the game a little too easy that some people missed them! Something I wish I tweaked some more before the deadline

I REALLY wanted to get a good way to show off the impatience, I was going to just have them progressively shaking more as they get more impatient but I think I ended up forgetting towards the end which was sad LMAO

Money originally was going to have a use! But then I had it at the end to be some sort of "scoring" :) I wish I could've done a lot more with it, I agree it would have made it so much better.

I completely forgot I even added jumping honestly, I always add it because I feel weird not being able to jump but I do agree that sometimes it's not necessary so I'll keep that in mind for next time LMAO

I think I'm going to take your last point and use this in a future game honestly, I think it would add so much personality and I love the idea of just having a lil useless button just for that ahahah

Thank you so much for all the feedback, it's super useful to know for future jams and I'm really glad you enjoyed the Pigeon Mafia! Hopefully you'll see more of them in the future :)

THE PIGEON MAFIA EXPANDED UNIVERSE GROWS! Pigeon puns are off the charts in this one. Love the voice acting. You made a really solid cooking game, good enough for me to amuse myself working for the pigeon mafia for quite a while, even if you ran out of time for the day system. Fantastic work.

Developer(+1)

HAHAH THE PIGEONS WILL KEEP EXPANDING! Thank you so much though! I'm honestly really looking forward to seeing where I'll bring the Pigeon Mafia next :) I'm glad you enjoyed this one!! I absolutely loved your game btw!

Really digging the toppings being more suited for birds and the punny names for the drinks. I also like the low-poly graphics and the voice acting. Excellent submission.

Developer

Thank you! I really appreciate it :)

A really polished gameplay loop, I got into a real groove just dishing out pizzas, all it needed was maybe an objective or a way to ramp up difficulty like having more than one pizza going at a time.

Game looks great and the voice acting was a great touch, really sold it.

I had to quit eventually when one guy just ordered a pizza with BBQ sauce and nothing else. Wasn't having that.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for giving it a try! Honestly better difficulty scaling, more pizza orders and an objective are all things I wanted to have in this game jam. I was REALLY wanting to have a day system to add some extra depth but towards the end, time constraints got to me and I focused on fixing all the game breaking bugs I had. I think I might pick this back up at some point, refactor it and implement all that stuff later :) I really enjoyed working on this and I'm so glad the people liked the voice acting!

If it makes you feel any better, the Pigeons COULD order pizzas with no sauce, no toppings and no cheese originally... not even I could stand for that and I HAD to change it

Submitted(+1)

Totally understand, you always think you have more time than you do. Polishing is so important and it shows in your game.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words :) I'm surprised I was even able to get the tutorial done on time, I did it with around 6 hours to spare whilst dealing with the 60 bug reports I was getting from my friend LMAO But that's part of the jam fun!

This reminded me of Papa's Pizzeria. I liked the fact that there's pigeons instead of human beings, makes the game feel more original and funnier. The voice lines made me laugh. This is the first time I saw a bread topping for a pizza, I guess it's a bird thing? I thought the game was never going to end after around 10mins of straight making pizzas until I got softlocked, so I unfortunately don't know if the game has more to it. I liked the background music, however there was also a lack of sound effects. Overall, nice submission!

Developer(+1)

Hello! Do you remember what the soft lock was and what happened? Would love to know the details so I could look into it sometime and find out what is causing it! The game's end was meant to be failing 3 pizzas but I the time before you're "late" on the order was way too long which is an oversight on my part! I'm sorry about the soft lock, I hope you were able to have fun regardless of this :) The sound effects were something I was wanting to add but the last day of the jam I had to fix countless game breaking bugs so decided to go for polish in the last few hours!

Thank you for trying my game :)

Submitted(+1)

I don't remember the softlock that much, but iirc I failed a pizza then there were 2 customers waiting at the same time, there was something like that.

Developer

Ohhh okay, someone else reported something similar earlier in the comments too. I'll have to do some digging to try and find out what is causing it. Thank you for letting me know :)

Submitted(+1)

Loved the customer's voice lines!

Developer

Thank you!!

Submitted(+1)

The tutorial is very well made.

Developer

Thank you! People seem to really enjoy the tutorial which makes me glad I put in those last few hours of effort at the end of the jam to have it in :)

Submitted(+1)

Very funny game, the voice acting made it even better. I liked it a lot!

Developer

Thank you! The voice acting was a MUST for this game honestly! Glad you enjoyed it
