Brainrot: The Game

I love the idea, but the controls confused me as hell.

Developer

thank you! just a question, what about the controls confused you? the movement/jumping/having to be on the popup to click yes and start the game, or something else?

Submitted

Mostly the pop-up thing but also the fact that the close buttons are just for visuals. I think the way to make it more intuitive is to make the yes/no buttons grayed out when you are not standing on the pop-up.

thats a great idea, thanks for the feedback. i definitely plan to improve this game after the jam and will implement your thoughts!

Nice idea. If you hold right and then left you can skip the obstacles and go directly to the end, dunno if intended. Good job on the entry!

Very cool idea and execution. Would love to have more time to jump around, but I guess that's the point right?

Very simple and creative concept!

The 10 second playtime was unexpected and risky but I enjoyed the concept. The art is very good and the game is polished. The controls were a bit unintuitive; initially I did not realize there was a player character at all. I went into it assuming it would be entirely mouse based.

Great job!!

Cool game! I like the overall color palette of the graphics as well as the clear differentiation between foreground and background elements. The game is definitely on the shorter side, but it makes sense for a game about content consumption and short attention spans.

Good job!

Interesting take, I like its style, and the music is catchy! I did find the interactions with the "content" a bit unintuitive, it took me a few tries to understand how to play.

A nice take on the theme this jam, Great assets overall you got here.

Very nice presentation, good art and sounds. Good take on the theme, I like it!

The level require design for not to be cheesed that easy , took a while to understand the normal mechanic for me.

On the other end, the concept is very cool and art and music are fitting very well!

Congrats on submitting! :)
I like the pixel art and background! Colorful but not too overwhelming.

Like someone mentioned before, it's easy to cheese the level by moving to the very edge of the screen and bypassing all of the moving platforms. A barrier on the side might've prevented that.

I really like the interpretation of "consume", and the visual direction is really fun!

The gameplay is lacking a bit though, theres not alot here in terms of mechanics and the game was over really quickly.

Nice vibes though, well done :)

I cheesed it by simply going to the left edge and falling all the way back down to the bottom of the level

It's an okay platformer but it's kinda generic and uninteresting imo
