that pronunciation of baguette killed me 😂

I personally don't enjoy these types of games, but the entire game felt super polished, incredibly polished- the menus all matched, there was no obvious bugs, everything did what you'd expect it to. I'm super impressed with this submission regardless of my bias

a tofu baugette with cashews sounds rancid, the thief did you a favour 👌

Developer(+1)

Hey, rancid is a little harsh! Tofu sandwiches are great, we eat them all the time. But to each their own.

We try to focus on polish as much as we can within the constraints of a game jam so we appreciate the call out!

Thank you for trying out the game, even if it's not your type.

Really liked the concept!! I too would become quite the detective if my tofu sandwich with cashews was stolen

Developer(+1)

Right? It's the natural response for stolen food. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Quite a fun detective game! Honestly, I would enjoy more

Developer

Thank you! There's definitely room to expand here

Loved this game so much! The concepts awesome, the dialogue was so funny and the art so cute. One of my favorite jam games so far

I just couldn't get past the voice, nice computer graphics though.

Having everything in a chat box is a very cool idea! I appreciate that it was fully voiced too, great effort.

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for playing it!

That was a very fun & creative game, I loved the voice over and the Slack-like interface!

It made me even look for creamy tofu sandwich recipes 👀

Thanks so much! It was really fun to make, so we're glad you enjoyed it!

The sandwich is inspired by a real recipe we eat all the time!

Here's the recipe, roughly:

Ingredients

Tofu

  • 2 Blocks Extra Firm Tofu, pressed
  • 3 TBSP Avocado Oil
  • 3 TBSP Cornstarch

Dressing

  • 8 TBSP your favourite Mayo
  • 1 TBSP Dijon Mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry powder to taste
Serve with
  • Cashews, crushed
  • Crusty Bread

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F
  2. While the oven is preheating, rip up your tofu into bite sized pieces and add them to a bowl with a lid.
  3. Add in the avocado oil and cornstarch, then cover the bowl and shake it to coat the tofu pieces.
  4. Spread the tofu onto a lined baking sheet in a single layer. You may need two baking trays.
  5. Bake for approximately 12 minutes and remove from the oven and let the tofu cool down.
  6. Once cool, mix the dressing together with the tofu.
  7. Serve on your crusty bread, top it with the cashews, and enjoy!

Makes 6 portions worth.

You can probably get away with pan frying the tofu, but I like the hands off approach of the oven.
