I try to set up my docs with print in mind. Do you have an idea of what the physical format will be? Dimensions, margins, bleed. The usual stuff.

Additional question to this: does it mean that if the submission is in a different format (trifold, 8 A6 pages, etc) it will be not considered?

The Jam has a format requirement so they should all be falling in the same format generally. If something is a pamphlet, folding it might be considered for an accompanying print, but things following the guidelines most specifically will get primary consideration.

"my judgement is that as long as its not taking up more paper than the rules permit then its cool if you fold it in a different way. So a trifold or (if you want to get wild) 8 A6 pages is totally cool. Dank Dungeon said that as long as the total area is the same it doesn't matter if it is has a different layout.

I'm not saying it's not cool for the jam. I am saying they can't be considered as readily for a print anthology that's focused on the core format in the outline.

A5 with fairly standard print bleeds and margins Mixam templates would be a good guide.
