Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
This game emphasizes aesthetic expression through beautiful pixel art, aiming for a visually immersive experience.
Gameplay revolves around the interaction of elemental forces (like fire, water, and wind) used to solve challenges and progress.
These elemental dynamics reflect the core theme through systemic interplay and environmental harmony.

AI use: portrait image

Theme Incorporation: Following the journey of a spirit whisperer who values a deep connection with nature, the game invites players to experience the beauty of the natural world and reflect on generosity found within the tangled stories of individuals and nations. Silla and Gaya are rival kingdoms, locked in ongoing conflict. As part of this strife, groups from Silla abduct the village’s spirits. Amid the bitterness and battles between the two nations, this game marks a first step toward mutual understanding and generosity that can emerge even in the face of hostility.

The submitted did not even try to answer the question about how the theme is incorporated. This looks like an existing project that was submitted to an unrelated game jam. The fact this was submitted to steam already and that there are no credits to the (beautiful) assets used, makes me think this was either done in advance or AI generated. I would like to be wrong but I see similar concerns in the comments below and the authors are not addressing them.

About the gameplay: it’s pretty but the controls are a little obtuse.

Sorry for the late reply.
We've updated the game description to address the concerns about the theme connection and the use of AI.
We hope this was helpful to you.
Thank you for playing our game!

I want to compliment the art, though I'm not sure how much of that was done at the hand of an artist or done by AI. I'm curious what the connection to the theme of generosity is supposed to be?

Developer

Thank you for playing our game!
Only the portrait art involved AI, everything else is not.
As for the theme of generosity, we agree it may feel a bit distant at first.
However, the game touches on the conflict between two historical kingdoms, Silla and Gaya.
At its core, the story follows a girl named Yuna, who begins a journey to resolve hatred through understanding and compassion—despite the long-standing hostility between the two nations.
We’ve now added this context to the game’s description, and we’d be grateful if you could view it through that lens.

I understand the choice to cast spells, but hitting C then Z for each one wasn't my favorite. I would have just liked to set one spell to Z then change only when I needed.

I like the empty heart collection reminds me of Zelda, and I'm excited to see where you take things!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game!
We truly appreciate your valuable feedback.
We’ll carefully consider your suggestion (using only spells with 'Z').

I fell in the hole

Developer

Hi, thank you for playing our game!

I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble :(
The controls might not feel smooth enough, and we're working to improve them!

Actually, I really like this way of casting spells because it reminds me of a game I really enjoy—ASTLIBRA Revision. I wonder if you guys have referenced this game in designing the spell-casting system.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game!

Actually, we didn’t have ASTLIBRA Revision in mind when developing our game,
but thank you for pointing it out and we’ll definitely check it out!

hey it's Chris!
Hmm it's really hard for me to give you guys valuable feedback, because I just felt like I didn't want to keep playing (I tried). On one hand, the pixel art, the voice acting was immaculate (though I wish you were more specific about which assets were AI-generated), but on the other, the controls (X for Jumping), taking 2-3 buttons to spell cast, and the unsatisfactory movement really threw me off. I died twice from the first jump--I know it's skill-based, but it seemed a bit harsh to make a player easily fall from the very first jump in the game.

In addition, it seemed that you emphasized it's not supposed to be a twitch based game, but the jumping and the presentation makes it really easily compared to metroidvanias, platformers, and general 2D games with satisfying movements (like Maplestory, Castlevania, etc.). I hope the feedback is helpful in anyway. If the focus was on elemental interaction--I wonder if you would consider ways to introduce that immediately and focus on that, and just take away the obstacle course?

Hi Chris,
Thank you so much for playing our game!

We're sorry to hear that you had trouble enjoying the experience.
We truly appreciate your feedback and take it seriously.
We're currently working on improving the control system,
including offering alternative keybindings (such as using the Spacebar to jump)
and overall movement responsiveness.

Thanks again for taking the time to play and share your thoughts.
We hope to show you an improved version in the near future!

The capsule art looks really good. The main character is really adorable too. The controls seem kind of weird though and it was hard to play, it's just unconventional. There's a lot of elements in a classic 2D game.

Developer

Thank you for playing!
We'll also try to improve the controls based on your feedback.

Managed to beat the game in 37 min. The controls were quite difficult, and I kinda wished there were some checkpoints. I wasn't sure what the green spirit did, was it unimplemented? Like the VA touch and the art was pleasant. Nice game!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game. I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
It turns out the green spirit's skill wasn't working due to a bug.
We'll fix it soon, thank you for letting us know!
