I liked the vibes and the mother-daughter concept quite a bit. Might have just been my computer, but the graphics were flickering a lot for me. I enjoyed the game overall, however, and think you succeeded in the second level with the sudden encroachment of the void!
Thank you for taking the time to give it a try! I'm sorry to hear about the visual errors. I'll see about replicating it when the jam is over.
It's all good, if you're looking to replicate it, it may be useful to know that I ran the game in a Firefox browser on an ubuntu machine. Here is a video showing what the game looked like to me:
I didn't take this into consideration when rating because my laptop is not powerful and my choice of browser and OS may have influenced this as well. But the constant glitching was an eyesore and made it harder to enjoy unfortunately.I love the idea, but I don't like timed puzzles that much, so that'll dock a point for me personally. Perfect otherwise.
I see. Thanks for giving it a shot!
Loved the aesthetic! Favourite moment was when I didn't quite have my footing yet in the second level, switched back to the lady after clicking the button inside the little room, and found myself staring right at the encroaching wall! Definitely changed the vibe/tempo (in a good way).
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, thanks for playing! Levels 2 and 3 were all done in the span of an afternoon, and I remember setting the void's starting position way too close and had a similar little moment.
A 3D game for your first project here on Itch is commendable! I enjoyed the puzzles the game presented and the dev room at the end was a nice little reward, wish more jam games did that.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment!
I liked it, good job. But last 2 levels could get like extra 2-4 seconds of time.
Heard that. I appreciate the feedback!
Very solid idea, but second stage felt a bit too tricky out the bat. I felt like I needed a bit more practice going back and forth with the characters with simpler puzzles. The longer a puzzle is, the less likely I am to go back and try it again when I fail. That being said, I love the old PS1 style graphics and it reminded me a bit of Ico. Well done, hope you can take the game further!
Thanks for taking the time to try it out and for the feedback! One thing I missed, despite countless self-reminders, was to add sound effects to the moving parts of the levels. I think that would have taken a bit of the edge off.
Yeah, sound is one of those crazy things that make a huge difference for media. Still a fun experience!
fun puzzle game and great level design. the second level felt like a difficult portal level with the trial and error i was doing.
Ah, hopefully it wasn't frustrating! Portal is one of my formative influences so It's nice to hear its influence shone through
i meant that as a compliment sorry wrote it a bit weird.
And taken as a compliment! No worries lol
I love how the game looks and I think that it is well executed
Glad to hear it! Thanks for playing
Really fun and challenging puzzles here. Loved how you basically have to execute everything nearly perfect or you'll fail the level. The music was also a great touch! Keep up the great work!
I appreciate the comments! I didn't have much free time to work on it, so I'm happy that it was enjoyable
