Good Idea of RogueLites

Submitted

very niceeee, i enjoy the clean loop~ im also very tickled by the sounds, well done!! :]

Loved the way it looked and even the way it sounded, even though it's ridiculous and it's a constant source of enjoyment every time you're self-aware enough to recognise the OST is just humming. The gameplay and card selection was responsive and no wrong room was triggered so mechanically it is solid!

I enjoyed this a lot and would've spent more time on it if I could, it was very Isaac-like in ways but that just adds to the enjoyment in my opinion. Great gameplay, visuals and the bosses and enemies had good variation. Well done!

Doesn't let me post my screenshot but I got a score of 5000!

Fun game! It sounds like you had fun making this, if the sound track is anything to go by!
One bug I found is you can gain two hearts by sliding in and out of the heart pick up.
Good work!

The sound effects are a masterpiece!

Really loved this concept! I thought the execution was great, too, considering the time limits. More card types and mechanics would be fun to see implemented on top of the existing ones you made for the jam. Thanks for making and sharing your game!

Oh, and I did want to share that it seems like there might have been a viewport scaling bug—here's what the game looked for me when I was playing on a high DPI display.

Really unique concept! Sounds were amazing and I really like how you blended a couple different genres/tropes here. Great job, thanks for sharing!

Developer

Ty for the kind words. Glad you liked the mixture haha

Submitted

I wish there was a category for sound effects, definitely 10/10!

Apart from that I really liked the concept, its really something else. I also really liked the art too.

All in all a very interesting game, great job I would say!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much. I am glad you liked the sound effects and enjoyed the concept for the game.

Very cool concept. Easy to understand and play, I really wanted to feel the power creep / difficulty come sooner. I think I came across a bug where the first level after starting a new round the character feels like it is moving slower than it should. The sound effects are awesome. Great Job!

Developer

Hey glad it was easy to figure out, I was def worried it might be a lot for a game jam and just confuse people. Also thanks for letting me know about the bug, I will look into it. Yeah the game might start out too slow honestly, but that is all stuff I can tweak later.

This concept is really unique! I like the fact you unlock new cards

:D

The gameplay rhythm is good but can be improved. Great game overall, cheers! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you, yeah def needs some tweaking/ balancing but I am glad you enjoyed it.

Submitted

I love the concept. Did you do the music yourself? It's charming in such a unique way

Developer

Haha yes I did. I am glad you found it endearing. Ty

This game was right up my alley! Super fun concept and execution. The music and sfx were also a really nice touch. The screen does scale a little strangely it seems, but still super fun. Would love to see more content in the future, nice job!!

Developer

Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed the game.

It's good rogelite but I would, remove the power up cards from the starting selection of cards, and if posible make imposible to pick the end round card. so the player has to at least try to beat one stage with enemies.

The bigest issue it's ever the end round card appear you don't have reason to not pick it literally, skiping rounds and that is a thing you don't want in a roguelite,  there is no reason to risk as the "power up" cards only last a single round, whould be intersting if you can stack them in some way to the upcoming round. and that go in counter of the core of you game loop, you need to find a way that pick or not the flag card be an strategic choice

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I broadly speaking agree. I initially had plans for your booster pack reward being dependent on you beating your own high score from a previous round, but another possible solution (one that I thought of while reading your post) is to maybe have the exit have a minimum cards played requirement to be playable. Regardless, I def want to keep tweaking and make the flag a more strategic choice like you said. Thank you again.
