My idea for the jam revolves around some old characters of mine that I've always wanted to make a game for. Since their designs are already monochromatic, I felt they fit the aesthetics of Decker quite nicely! Been working on character sprites, and I really like how they came out. Because I can't control myself and like a good coding challenge, these are all "fancy" puppets.

(tldr on the story. the witch, hyperion, is trying to exorcise/bargain with/study a demon that's possessing a priest. somewhat scary premise, but i plan on it being fairly comedic hehe)

Ooooh! Fancy puppets! :O

The style of this looks fantastic.

Thank you! Yeah, with the pt module, fancy puppets are very useful when you wanna have more complex puppets heheh. Like maybe different faces, body positions, hand positions, etc.

this style looks really great!! I love the placement of the portraits over the bg character too, great ui sense

Heheh thank you! Yeah I made the bg character first, since in the game you're playing from Hyperion's POV interacting with the priest. But i just had to include sprites for her and her cat too, so I put together the portrait sprites. I'm happy the UI looks good so far >:)

oh that's cool!! u have a rly strong art style and visual direction!! is the priest from a fictional in-world like magic religion?

ty!! and nah, its just (probably inaccurate) fantasy catholicism hehheheh. priests using swords and holy healing spells and stuff like that to literally fight demons.

ohhh I see!!

Hell yeah Fancy Puppets! I've not yet been game to experiment with them but I am excited to see how you're using them! This is looking so great!
