I think you have some cool visual movements, and i like how when you leave the rectangle it has that 3d effect. Keep wiht it! I think it can be a fun game!

I played around with the web version. It does seem to have a bug that the standalone does not have for me. Both Snezzy and the player's hand can leave the play area. Other than that the web version runs smoothly in Brave.

There's another glitch that both versions have where the character will flicker for a split second before changing poses. I've unpacked the game's files and I think I've got a good idea of what the problem is. RPGMaker likes to load resources only when it needs to and at the moment you're using single character sprite sheets ($ in filename). Try combining related poses into full-sized sheets so that the game loads everything all at once. Maybe a daytime animation sheet and a nighttime sheet for each character?

Im very aware of the bugs in both versions and the web version is buggy but has smoother animation due to being an updated version of the 3d, since it updated the previous boundary tiles stopped working but now im focusing on getting new content and gameplay in before I begin another batch of bug fixings :)

Lots of potential! I'd LOVE to see a more developed prototype of this.

Make sure you follow to stay updated haha!

Has gamefeel in spades, but not much actual play yet. Interested in seeing where you go with this. The performance seemed fine, and my laptop is old enough that I usually feel the pain if it's poor.

Developer

Could you go into more detail when you say “gamefeel in spades”. Thanks for playing and hope you can look forward to the next update! Also for performance issues it is best when played on firefox or chrome since webGL is necessary to run everything smoothly with lossless quality.

I really liked were this was going, I can imagine a game with sim tower like mechanics, building a community of residents, observing and interacting with them. I'm also a huge fan of the 2d sprite on low poly 3d object style.

Developer

Very glad you like it! I'm mostly getting performance issues down at the moment and getting used to the newest update version. Hope you stick around a little after the jam to see some more progress!

hey fyi the itch app (and, well, windows) doesn't know how to deal with rars; if you just do a zip then itch can download and run it kinda automatically

i still think this is a cool idea and i hope you can get it further!!  i really want to see what you have in mind for the interactions, but sadly i don't get to see any when there's only one character haha

i can't believe you made this in fucking rpg maker are you kidding me

the aesthetic is absolutely excellent, except that the fuck scene looks kind of like a raccoon face, i am not sure what you can do about that with only two colors at your disposal but now you can never unknow this information

As someone who also uses RPG Maker, I'm extremely impressed by this type of gameplay! It's just 100% solid and you should be proud of it!

I'm really, really intrigued by this concept.

Two question:

I'm guessing the characters will interact with each other in some way based on where they're positioned in relation to each other and time of day?

Will the gameplay be more of sandbox, puzzle, exploration or narrative style?

Developer(+1)

sandbox gameplay with narrative focus, the characters will interact over time within a small space that allows the player to shape everything how they want

Sounds very cool, I'll look forward to future updates.
