Very creative entry! Can't say I've ever had dreams like that. XD Was fun exploring the different dreamscapes and was curious about what crazy item I would be able to collect next. ^^' The environments are cool and loved the aesthetics. Also a sweet soundtrack to go along with it! Very nice! ^^
Interesting LSD Simulator-like walking game! Visuals were fun, trippy. Minor bug: if you climb up a ramped surface that has a straight wall (doesnt slope to the ground) it will retain that height and you can go out of bounds.
ok wow . This was quite the experience. it really did feel like a writers block fever dream . nice work did feel like picking up the words should have had a little more impact on the game play but overall loved the atmosphere of the game
Absolutely my favourite experience of the jam, an overall pleasant surprise. You're clearly into making weird/abstract games, are you?
very nice atmosphere it created. i enjoyed walking around in each environment a lot. i also liked the little collectibles that the player could pick up. the hidden "OH YEAH" art surprised me lmfao
picking up the spinning words didn't feel like it had much impact. it made them show up on my HUD, but that's all i could tell that they were doing.
i also like the cutscene at the end, that was a nice touch
a recording of my playthrough:
Some control quirks that weren't explained at the start: Right click on the mouse removes the cursor and gives you more of a "free look" mode and WASD controls. Pressing space makes you float higher and higher, but I couldn't find a way to go back down. "R" resets the level.
I liked the surreal vibe going on, and collecting little pieces of lore was an interesting concept. Things like the wiimote and homework do a great job hinting at a story and character behind the dreams. Gameplay felt a little slow, but maybe this was intentional due to the dream theme. Overall, an interesting concept, and I'd love to see it expanded upon!
The gameplay was as interesting as a walking sim can be, but, the visuals, the narrative and the interpretation of the theme were magnificent.
Despite being very simple, I did thoroughly enjoy this experience. And yeah it felt more like an experience than anything, wasn’t very strong in terms of gameplay but it absolutely didn’t need to be. The one thing I will criticize is that it didn’t really feel like it used the theme at all.
Definitely feels right out of win95 in a lot of ways. But I am weary about if it was made with this game jam in mind. I didnt see any 'blocks' or furry-ness other than than the corner avatar which seemed out of place. At the end scene fit into the dream state. interesting experience over all at the very least
Short but sweet. Really captures the feeling of being in a dream especially with how syrupy the movement speed was and how slippery the mouse was in WASD mode.
Speaking of, the only complaints I'd have are that hold and drag mode needs mouse-lock (couldn't effectively play it in windowed mode because cursor keeps going out), maybe a mouse sensitivity slider for both movement modes, and there's a bug where if you're not looking down a ramp if you're going down or moving anywhere except down you walk on the last height you were standing on (which is fair considering well, dreams).
But overall, this was a cute werk.
I love it. Very trippy and fun. Love how simplistic yet understandable and also somehow nonsensical it is. Very much feels like I am in a dream.
Dig the aesthetics soo much; the control scheme works really well with the theme, too. Proper 90's vibes--lovely!
Nice game. I can fly up but can't go back down so when this happens I have to restart everything:| but it's still a fun concept, reminds me of Doom
