Amazing work!! The game is so fun, and everything is well implemented. The movement is especially fun, with the double jump and ground pound abilities really making it feel the perfect amount of controllable and unique. I loved jumping around so much, and the strawberries provide a great hook for replayability.

My only notes would be that I would rather the sticky ability was toggleable than always active, as there are some spots where I would like to be able to roll, rather than sticking. Another small note is that I feel like it'd make a fun moment to be able to jump down from the high point to the meeting at the bottom, rather than restricting it, but I understand why you did.

Back to positives, I absolutely love the zoom feature, as it allowed me to set the zoom depending on the situation, as well as doubling as a built in map for glancing at where to go. Very smart implementation for this size of game. The world is very well designed as well, with the Walruses providing some great comedy.

I love everything that's in this game, with my only critiques being minor things of personal taste, overall, super great job!!

What a unique concept of blending golf with a metroidvania-esque experience! I loved the artstyle and mechanics! And a super underrated feature was the level zoom out! Don't personally have too many negative things to say about it!

A very solid entry!

Lol I loved the walrus meeting. Fantastic job! I really liked the drop ability, it's amazing what control that simple move gives you. Some of my favorite mechanics in the jam!

Awesome entry. One of the games I spent the most time on while rating. I love a good golf game, and being a sentient golf ball bug is just 15/10 delightful. I have basically no notes that aren't glowing compliments. The only thing I encountered the entire time that seemed buggy was when I'd broken one of the unstable rock ground areas (over the spiky pit), after falling in the spikes and being respawned, I was sitting where the rocks previously had been, just floating as if they were still there. Other than that, though:

  • Loved your tutorial character who popped up throughout the map
  • The zoom in/out felt like an extremely good implementation of a mini-map feature, so well integrated and like zero friction to access, loved it.
  • Colour palette, sprites, grass tileset, and little grass particle effect and beetle trail effect all felt so polished.
  • There was generally great user feedback for things like collecting strawberries, using abilities, and so on.

Occasionally I found I moved too fast and my cursor hit the extents of my screen before I'd fully wound up my shot, but I think that's something that is probably pretty hard to avoid, because I've experienced it in most golf games I've played. Overall, really amazing work, and one of my highest rated games.

Loved the golf mechanic. That was genuinely fun to play. It reminded me of the early flash games I used to play while avoiding homework haha. Really nicely done!

Great work! This played really well, I didn’t have any issues at all. Initially I was clicking the beetle then realized I could click anywhere, which was great. I had collected nearly 400 strawberries (I think? it was a lot) before getting the third powerup, and liked how well it complemented the other skills so got them all. Reminded me a lot of Yoku’s Island express. It was also cool seeing the whole map, I’ve never thought to do that and it totally works.

it was fun! like the previous comments said yea the jump force indicator was pretty unintuitive, i do like the zoom in zoom out feature, the strawberrys were cool! cool job! and ofc i love beetles gotta rate this game higher

Got hardlocked by a bug - falling in water after launching from one of the large strawberry holes caused me to get trapped underground with the ground raising animation repeating.

What I'd played so far was pretty fun, though the indicator for your jump force felt a little unintuitive. I think I'd prefer an Angry Birds style trajectory preview, though maybe that would make things a little too easy.
