Great work, it was fun, the art is very good, and the music matches the atmosphere of the game.
There are some points but nothing too big, like the passages are equal to the walls so you just identify them when you touch, and some tights spaces to jump. And there’s really a bug on the keyboard controls the D button It’s triggering the jump, but with the control it’s working fine.
I’ll post a review for this game on my YouTube channel, probably tomorrow.
It’s hard but the games on my time were hard so I liked it;
very original, and very well made.
Good music, nice pixel art, te only thing that I noticed is that some sprites looks misplaced, with the wrong pixel size or with filters so some of them looks a little blurred but this is a minor problem.
And maybe faster bugs, they took too long to get to the baits.
Overall Very good job.
I’ll post a review for this game on my YouTube channel, probably tomorrow.
Fantastic art design and animations.
I know that’s not complete but man I’m really wanting to play the complete version of this game, please keep this project going.
And the music is so good, my complements to the composer, great job.
I’ll post a review for this game on my YouTube channel, probably tomorrow.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it.
The problem of the lag is known bug for web build of Godot on 3d games, happens every time that a new particle system it’s loaded for the first time, I had an idea to fix that, it’s preload all the particles emitters on the game load I’ll will try this on the next version.
And certainly, I’ll continue the development of this game.
Thanks for playing.
Really nice game, I rally enjoyed the game play and the story, and all the love you put on there, all the npc’s, and level design. Really nice work.
I believe there was some bug I’ve got the double jump without buying it, and sometimes I could use the keystone power before getting it, but it was just minor details
I’ve made a review of it on my YouTube channel.
FFirst of all, nice work
I felt the controls a little slippery, but I believe that was part of game design.
There are some graphic glitches, but nothing to worry about.
I took me some time to figure out the controls, some menu or tutorial would be great.
Overall, it’s a great work, nice art and animations and the music matches the fell of the game.
I’ve made a review of it on my YouTube channel.
Great work, the music…. oh, the music, it’s so satisfying thanks mellorine, the pixel art is so good, I really love it.
Seeing the comments here maybe I miss some part, I was stuck on the frog’s area.
But it was so satisfying and enjoyable to play, I really want to play the complete game, thanks for that.
I’ve made a review of it on my YouTube channel, I hope you can watch it.
Nice artwork, I missed some music, but the sound FX is great.
There was some problem with thew moving platforms syncing, I took a while to get them align and be clone enough for thew jump, so it was a little frustrating at some point.
Another point was the temporary platforms, there was no warning, and they are too fast.
But overall great work, I really love the graphics with some work it can be a complete game for sure.
Muchas gracias por el juego.
I’ve made a review of it on my YouTube channel look there if you can.
Great game, nice art, and the music is very good, and the best story of the jam, good work.
For me it was a little too hard, someone already told that, but the hit boxes seemed too big, and the enemies keep going when you hit them, there’s no kick back or recoils, what makes very hard to defeat an enemy without losing some HP.
And the first boss (that one that smashed the bunny), for me looks like I didn’t have the necessary skills to defeat him and took me too long and was a little frustrating.
Bu overall very well made, really a great job.
I’ve made a review of it on my YouTube channel, and I figured out that I’m a very bad ‘precision jump’ player
Thanks, for the complete review!
About the points:
• About the music, you are right, I didn’t have time to refine that composition, there’s already a second version of that music with more movement and some changes, and I’ve made one more piece of music to change in some points.
• About the lack of visual, in fact I didn’t have much time to model a lot of stuff, there was planned to have 2 kinds of enemies, the printers and the cleaners for this first version but just one came to the prototype, and some assets were made in the last minute.
• Oh the empty room, in this prototype I focused on make the game run smoothly on the browser for the jam, because of that all the textures are procedural, I used low-poly assets, and had to limit the number of meshes on the floor, on the next version I’ll fill all of the other room with some messages and, fragments of the game story.
• Oh that sorry about that, you finished the game, chapter 5 was the ending of the prototype gameplay.
Really thanks for the review being very complete and precise, I really appreciate that, and I hope that you play the next versions.
Thanks!
I’ve received a lot of good reviews here, this encourages me to keep the work on this game, and certainly I’ll do.
I’m already working on a post jam version of the game, and the interaction hand problem was fixed with continuous collision detection.
And about the map I’ll work on some visual hints to help the navigation, some details and boards on the walls that will guide the way.
Really thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing.
Overall I liked it, great job, the mechanics are very good. The boss was hard.
And the ball sometimes colides with the wall and don’t shoot, I don’t know if tha’t’s a bug of a feature.
And about the moving platforms, the character doesn’t follow them but it was not a big problem.
AIve made a review of your game on my youtube channel take a look there if you can.
The controls are really weird, but I also made some weird controls in my career, that’s not the major problem, the size of the map, combined with the speed of the character, that’s the biggest problem, but I believe that this can be solved easily.
Overall good minimalistic graphics, the ambient sounds are good, a little more music would be nice, and the sfx are ok, nice work.
I’ve made a review of it on my youtube channel.
Hey that’s was a great review, very detailed, the most detailed that I ever received, I really appreciate that, thank you, I certainly will use your review to enhance the game on the post-jam.
All your points are valid and precise.
-
About the map the disorientation was really intentional, there takes some time to navigate, on the big floor, and there’s some tricks like the odd rooms are on the left and the even room on the right, but on certain point of the game there will be an map, it’s a planned mechanic.
-
Regarding the translation: Initially, the text was written in Portuguese and then translated to other languages. English is my second language, and Spanish is my third. Due to time constraints, some details, especially concerning acronyms, were not reviewed.
-
About the mechanic, you’re right, the need to change back to empty hand is not necessary, I’ll work on that.
-
About the Id card, good feedback, I’ll refine that mechanic, maybe just accumulate the permissions, or remove redundant cards, I’ll test some options.
-
About the music, I wrote 3 songs for this game (one is not ready) but just one fits that first stage, the other 2 are for other moments of the game, but at the end of game play I’ve put the slow version of the main song, and it seems odd at that point, I shouldn’t put that there, and in the future version it’s going to be more variations of the same song during the stage itself.
-
And yes I’m planning other kinds of blocker, including some weapons and knowledge, that are necessary to enter some areas and floors.
And thanks again, I really loved your feedback, it’s going to be the base of the first modifications on the game, thanks a lot.
Of course, about the jump it’s the same issue but it’s not a big issue at all, just a minor detail, just adjusts on the jump curve to fall a little bit slower, but keep faster than the jump.
And about the controls, it’s just the 2 hand on keyboard and ‘z’ instead of ‘space’ to jump, I’m not used to this configuration, but’s more a personal impression, I’ll try it with the controller that I belive that gonna fell a lot better.
The art is great the music it’s matching the atmosphere of the game, nice work.
But it’s very hard to bounce and move at the same time, it needs a very precise timing. and some time the platforms doesn’t help, and you fall a lot, and take a long time to get back.
Other thing it’s the cristals, since you are jumping all the time it’s hard to get them all, maybe some kind of magnet to pull the itens towards you will help with that.
I’ve made a review of your game on my youtube channel.
Nice texturing work, the music it’s matching, and the light are very good.
But I didn’t get how to jump I tried the buttons on the controls menu but nothing happen. And there’s a bug o the main menu, when you get into the controls you can’t go back to the main.
I’ve made a review of your game on my youtube channel.
That’s a cute game, nice and relaxing.
One only thing, it’s that the background color pallet are too close to the fopreground and characters, maybe desaturate a little or darken a little to make the foreground more visible and the background looks ,ore distant.
I reviwed you game on my youtube channel as well.
I really loved the atmosphere of the game and the animations are very good, I’m looking foward to see more of this game.
Some things that maybe been said already,
I like the dark environments but some times players can be confused by where are the enemies or if it’s a enemy or an interactible.
The controls are not keyboard frendly, I’ve take some time to get used to them.
I didn’t get to far on first play, only when I see here on the coments the mechanics to atack downward the spikes I passed that point, maybe some in-game tutorial will help with that.
And about that, adjusts on dificulty progression, the spikes would be better placed later on the stage when the player are more used to the controls and mechanics.
Overall Nice game, congrats.
And I’ve made a review of it on my youtube channel.
That’s beautiful, really, amazing artwork, the transitions of colors, the water effects, the animations, music, sfx everything it’s amazing.
Strong winner candidate.
I’m a simple guy, I love beautiful pixel art, and your gone deep in my heart, thanks. Just nee some adjusts on controls, and jump, but overall amazing game. I’ve reviwed this game on my youtube chanel the video will be released tomorow, maybe a have droped a tear on camera, sorry I’m soft.
Oh a nice one, I want to p´lay mome, the mechanics are great, and of course, made in Love, I’m really looking forward to work with Love.
Only one small point, it takes me a while to get used to the ‘x’ button, it’s too close to the movement buttons, so its a little hard to move and press ‘x’ to do the grapling thing. but thats a small thing, the game is grate, really goo job.
