Really nice game and a nice idea! Some textures in the game are overlapping, and in the menu, there is no pressed or hover texture for the button, but even after this, the game was nice, and I had fun! :D
Thanks, mate! Glad you had a go! Hmmm, which textures were? I'll look into it :) Yes, I need to sort out the menus!
Try to use Y-Sorting, it will help you with top-down style. The textures: https://imgur.com/a/yyWNGY1 .
+ Here is tutorial if you need:
Oh yes I know about Sorting just wondering which texture I might have missed :)
I love the art style and the idea of the game :) The art in particular is well-polished. I also played with keyboard + mouse and the controls felt pretty good. The digging mechanic threw me off a bit - literally off the edge! I started to get the hang of it though,
Thank you! This is my first time trying Pixal art lol so I watched a lot of YouTube on how to draw XD
Hahah yeah that will do it! I figured out how to stop that but only a few days after the jam :)
Nice job on the game. I saw you recommended playing with a controller, but playing with the mouse and keyboard wasn't terrible. I bought the golden shovel, but I wasn't really sure what the difference it and the original shovel. I also didn't realize that my progress with the lights didn't "save" after death like the money does. Luckily I was able to get the second light on relatively quickly and finish the game.
Thank you! Yeah, so I found it more comfortable, yeah but I'm glad you managed on a keyboard too :) Ah, the golden shovel stops you from falling down holes that you have made so basically invincibility :) I'm glad you were able to finish it!
Ohhh, hahah! I thought I had just gotten better at the game! 😂
XD
Nice work! I killed myself a bunch. I'd love to see you expand on this in the future!
Hahah don't worry I did too :P Thanks for giving it a go!
I really like the mood, and isometric style - but gosh did I keep digging my own grave! That being said, with more time, polish and bug fixing, I think you have a pretty sweet concept that's worth exploring further.
Thanka mate! I have fixed it but I ran out of time :(
Thanks for having a go though <3
Visually impressive. I just kill myself every time with the digging :(
Yeah, it's a hard one! I think it would have been better to have the player always land on a tile
Interesting game! I wasn’t quite sure what my objective was, apart from collecting coins haha. I also found that I more often died after using the dash then anything else haha.
I see the vision you were going for, just needs some improvements. The art was really well done, getting things to look right in isometric isn’t easy, and it looks great!
Thank you! Yeah, there's a little guy in the second level who explains it, but now that I see it, he's pretty well hidden, so it's easy to miss him! If you get the golden shovel, it makes you immune to fall damage. :D
Thanks for the feedback, though! I might spend a bit more time after the jam to get it working properly.
The shovel mechanic is very cool! I love the environment style. The game is a bit buggy though, like enemies will walk off the edges and you can die twice in a row if you shovel off the edge of the map. Great entry though!
Thanks, mate! 😃
Hahaha, yeah, in hindsight, I should have filled in all the tiles so enemies wouldn’t fall off until you dash and create a hole. Definitely something to tweak! Glad you liked it!
