Fun game! I can tell you put a lot of thought into this,  It could use something extra to make it more challenging, but for a week, this is great!

Amazing game :), I got out on Day 6 because the generation wasn't all in my favour on the previous attempts. Overall Enjoyable Game :D

Very good game, the controls feel very good, when you reach a certain height the trail disappears, but otherwise I saw the game great, very good!

Pretty simple to understand! How did you do the trail effect? I thought it was really cool, but it glitched and disappeared after a while!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! For the trail effect, I used the position of the drill to draw a permanent dark line over the background (=  by adding the position at each frame to an array and then use the array to draw the line). I also found out after submitting that it bugs out after a while - I think it might be because the polyline function (which I used in Godot) has some limit on the length of the line, so if the array gets too long it bugs out. I guess removing the "oldest" point in the array at each frame would solve it.

yeah, I would guess that you had some sort of array overflow. It is a bad idea to add to an array every single frame. What you could do instead is have it add to the array only if the player is far enough away from the most recent point.

Really nice idea and fun game good job :)

Nice concept and fun game! Maybe it needs some kind of enemies it lacks some extra challenge! Loved the music and the controls.

Nice game. I wonder how you managed to paint over the area after you moved over it. The upgrade system is really great!

Developer

Thanks! For the "dig line", I initially thought about playing with shaders and masking layers, but then just used the position of the drill to draw a permanent dark line over the background (= add the position at each frame to an array and then use the array to draw the line)! Sometimes the simple solutions are the best :)

Strangly satisfying and smooooth

Not bad. The concept of digging a way for yourself is nice. Graphics look not good, I think you could do it better in 7 days. Also, on the 4th attempt the game broke, rather, after the end of the fuel I did not appear store menu.

Good game, good concept, however some ideas for more that you maybe can do are different zones, things that can hurt you, and other types of jems. Otherwise nice game I got out on day 4!

Really nice gameplay and interesting mechanics. I like the sound design, but I wish there was more variation on the types of rocks as you keep going.

It is a bit hard for me to see with the red filter applied. Very nicely executed on the gameplay part and good music choice. Nice job!

This was a very fun game, the upgrading feature and there actually being an end saves the game from repetition. Great entry!

Nice game, controls are good which was the most important for what you did imo. Congratulations ! Would have been nice to have different layers of rock
