I think the enemy ships, and the ally ships's projectiles could use a bit of work to look more traditionally "spacey", but neither was a big issue
Absolute chaos! It's very fun to fly around in :) I didn't feel like the larger ship contributed a lot? Might be nice if it was more of a noticeable ally - I more or less ignored it through the run. Maybe it could shoot or drop bombs or something?

I'm not trying to justify myself, it is how it feels that is important, not how it is, but I'm just going to say that the game would be FAR harder without it. I probably should have made it more of an ally though.

The idea has a great potential that could be express with more mechanics depth (maybe not just only push the spaceship a tiny bit).
The game is really simple, but nonetheless the gameplay is a bit frustrating: the main reason is the apparent chaos on the screen. The AIs seems to be completely random and not controllable, causing a worrying lack of agency.
Consider making a more explicit objective and effective delivery visuals, but you are indeed in a good position to improve this game in the future!

You guessed correctly, it is completely random. I honestly planned to make it move to the average position of all enemies but never got around to it.
