A nice little game, graphics looked nice even if the player character didn't fit, and the distorting music was a really cool. Good job :)

Good job on your first game jam! I don't think the player matches the environment the best but I think you got a good start. Check out my game if you want :)
The music was cool when it got distorted.
I'm not even sure what was killing me.
A good first attempt, I like that you could fall through the lava into another area
The music getting distorted once I reached the bottom really creeped me out! Congrats on your first gamejam, keep it up!!
Congrats on your first game jam! A meta-tip for game jams is having a browser version of your game is really important, because it makes your game available to the most people -- I would have skipped over your game if you hadn't commented in my thread since I use Linux. Since you commented I went over to my wife's windows PC and downloaded it, but 99% of the time I wouldn't bother to do that and would have moved on to the next browser game. Since you're using Unity, exporting a browser build should just be another few button presses + maybe some extra debugging, but it's definitely worth it.
Gameplay wise, I was a bit confused about what to do -- I noticed my health ticking down the whole time, so I tried waiting until it went to 0 and I got the win screen. Then I tried exploring the level, but I couldn't figure out if there was anything I was supposed to do to get a different ending -- I got down to layer 3 by falling through the lava a few times, but died due to my health ticking down before I could get farther, so not sure if I missed something. I think the lava works well as a failure is progress mechanic since "failing" to jump over the lava and falling in is actually how you progress to the next layer, but there maybe could have been a bit more around that -- maybe the levels make it progressively more difficult to fall into the lava?
I liked the art and the music, and while the movement was a bit floaty I think if the speed was cranked up a bit it would have felt pretty good for a floaty platformer.
Overall, good job for a first game jam!
bro, you should make an exit button for your game. I've to open my task manager to quit
The visuals were pretty neat. But i think the overall structure of your game was a bit messy and it lacked clearer communication with the player.
But I can see your ideas behind it and they look really promising :)
I'll be completely honest here - the game as is has a few big issues that make it a bit annoying to play:
- it's not exactly clear what you need to do
- there's an instruction for "E" but I couldn't find what it does?
- I was not sure if the sword does anything or not
- there is no way to exit the game other than Alt + F4
- I was running around until I found a chest and finally randomly won
That said, don't let this discourage you! The music is quite nice, and I loved that going into the lava dropped you to a new level, giving you a good feel of discovery.
Ah - because for me I think I picked up the sword without pressing E, or maybe I did it without realizing :D
No worries mate, it's hard to finish a game in 2 days, especially if you're new to this. Props for trying, a lot of general things you did were pretty neat, just lacking a bit for it all to come together. You made the right choice to still publish it, some people wouldn't if it had some issues like yours.
I didn't really understand. So, I walked, then I died, then I was teleported in the air, with the thank you for playing message. Is that right ?
