How does your game utilize the limitation and theme?
Our game is based on recovering Crystal gems stolen from enemies, player has to go to each room eliminate enemies and bring back crystal to owner. We also used a boomerang as weapon - we decided that since after throwing it returns back to you.

Very well polished game. Overall everything was really well done. I only have 4 points that I feel were underdeveloped. Lasers hurting enemies but spikes not activating or hurting enemies feels disjointed. The coins feel very meaningless, and since there is a ton of them and they reset on death at some point I just stopped caring about them. Having no option to regain HP back incentivizes players to kill themselves as they regain their HP back and the coins are meaningless. Finally to even more incentivize player death once you get a crystal piece you have to trek all the way back. Or you can just die and get there faster.
The coins here are the real Achilles heel as having them have a purpose would help 2 of the other issues. Otherwise very nice game. Good job!
Thank you for playing the game and feedback. Lasers and spikes actually hurt enemies, but they are not activated by enemies. Yeah, sorry about the coins, it was for an upgrade menu that wasn't possible to implemented during time of Jam.

I liked everything, except the coins. Sound was on point, visuals were charming. Feedback was solid. The coins slowed the game way down and also served no purpose.
Thank you for the Feedback! Agree, didn't had time to implement the upgrade menu, therefore coins could only be collected for fun.

It was for an upgrade system and health restore with owner, but the time for the implementation was not possible (Big scope). Sorry, last day was spent entirely on boss and couldn't do the upgrade system.
Awesome game! def one of the best in the jam. Really amazing art and music. I have turned the music off for almost all other games in this jam besides yours.
I will say I got pretty frustrated at times haha. I definitely think there should be a way to heal, either from enemy drops or healing after you get each shard. I also think the player hitboxes were a bit disingenuous and I got nabbed a few times that felt unfair. There is also a bug where if you are against a top wall, the boomerang will disappear immediately and that got me killed a few times.
Overall super fun game! I have so much to say because I got very invested in it, which is a good thing!

Just tried to do what you mention about boomerang with top wall and the boomerang doesn't disappear, but it returns to you immediately after colliding with wall, however I don't like it so thank you very much for mentioning that issue. It only happens when you go closest to top wall and shoot to sides. I'll fix that for later versions. Thank you very much!

I was already impressed by the game but arrived at the boss ... wow! All are very well done, I loved the ghosts & their way of disappearing & reappearing. The difficulty rises well as it should.
The checkpoints could have been put after we return the object but otherwise nothing to complain about. Very good little game, which I will play again without a doubt!
