I liked the multiple endings, the music was hypnotic

Thank you! Gotta have something to enjoy in every corner!

I really liked this game. The loud colors and banjo-style sampling went really well together.

I have a really hard time understanding how the game is played though, and I think a big thing that might help the flow is either arranging the cards to be in a cross shape (like the arrow keys) or not having your candy sprites come to points like arrows.

I know that might sound confusing, but if you ever played that game mode in Brain Age with the color words that are typed in different color fonts, you might know what I'm talking about.

But other than the card layout, I think the rest of the UI is well though-out and the general vibe of the game is really fun and wacky. Lots of Tricks and Treats for sure. Even a little bit of 💀.

Thank you! I'll try messing with that part of the UI a bit. I was trying to make the game compatible for the SOP arcade machine and didn't have that many options for controls.

I'm new to SOP and had no idea they have an arcade machine. that's really really cool. I'm gonna have to look into that. Making your game for arcade must have been a really cool challenge.

Sweet game! As everyone mentioned, super fun audio experience. When I got the hang of how to play it was super satisfying, it's fun that there's no limit to how fast you can roll and pick cards. I wonder what the fastest possible win time is! (I guess without the cheeky trick!)

Developer

Glad to hear! That is a very good question. There are a lot of random elements involved so there'll be a challenge for those who try.

The heavy use of sampling made for a really cute sound all around that went well with the artwork. All around awesome entry!

Took me short bit to get it, but I definitely like the idea and execution for this game! Sound is great lmao

Everything audio-wise is amazing. Music and sound effects are fantastic. The characters' walk animation is also great.

Massive exploit discovered: I  found that just mashing every direction and spawning a ton of candy instantly wins you the game.

Developer(+1)

That's the real strategy!

Thanks! The music was a blast to make - Chris sent me a dozen wacky voice samples and I plugged them into a bunch of samplers and played them like an instrument. It was a very unique and fun experience!

What a great game! I love the chaos and the energy more than anything. The art, SFX, and music are super nice. This game really makes you FEEL like you're shopping at Spirit Halloween 🙏

Also, I appreciate your attempt to include my Grombit character in this game as the middle character, but I will tell you he definitely would NOT ENJOY red candy! HE IS A BLUE CANDY BOY!!

Developer

Glad you felt that way!

Thanks for the kind words! Grombit was definitely the highlight of last night's stream for me

I'm really glad to hear that!

I liked the story and arstyle, even enjoyed the banjo kazooie dialog sound.
Initially was a bit hard to understand how to play it, after a couple of tries I managed to win. Nice entry!

Developer(+1)

I really enjoyed making those sounds very much! Thank you!

I love the sprites of the main characters! Also, the music and sound effects hit this perfect level of obnoxiousness which is just delightful. I am a bit confused on the gameplay mechanics still though. A brief tutorial might help a little bit. Overall, good work!

Thank you for the feedback! At the moment I can give a better explanation on the jam page.

Thanks lol it was a fine line, but I'm glad you think the sound found the sweet spot. It was super fun to work on.
