Really liked the minigame approach to combat, although i would have liked more difficulty (the dexterity one was too slow).
As others have mentioned, player movement is so slow and there are some annoyances like only one key per inventory.
Overall I liked it, enjoyed the mix of genres. Good job!
The differents fight are a good idea. The relation with the theme is thin. Mini-games are usually fast. I think your game will benefit of faster movements and faster mini-games. Great work though.
Creative game, and it seemed very ambitious with the multiple battle types, inventory system, and gold. The game was a bit rough around the edges but I could definitely see what you were going for. I'll go over the things that stood out to me so you can improve them in your next game, don't see it as me tearing into your game because I thought it was a pretty solid entry overall.
- the character felt sluggish to control and I feel like that might have to do with the large amount of intertia when changing direction
- the sprites were all blurry, which is probably due to your import setting. I'm not sure how it works in construct but in Godot you fix this by turning off the filter when importing
- I wish I could type in the numbers in the brain game, and also wish there was a delete button, cause the buttons would sometimes miss my inputs
- there were too many controls that were just info-dumped at the start, if you have a complex control system like that it should be progressively introduced to the player
Overall cool game though! I liked what you did with the changing music in battle
Thank u for your comments, very useful, with the constraint of time, I had to make some sacrifices with regret
Fantastic game, though I don't really see how the theme is applied. If you changed the enemies to be random people rather than brain monsters then it would essentially be the same. Movement was a little weird and stiff and it was really hard to see what to do/where to go. Still a pretty fun game, and I enjoyed how all the fights were different.
thank you for your comments, the relation to the theme is quite simple, each enemy offers you a more or less difficult challenge against yourself: memory, dexterity and endurance, I take note for too slow movements, you are not the only ones to have noticed it to me
Art is great though the game's design may be overly complex for a game jam. The different battle designs are very interesting. The game is quite difficult to play however, because it is so dark and slow.
was a good game, but don't know where is the theme is connected with game and movement is not that great.
All thought the idea was very good the execution was poorly done. Most annoying thing was the play movement. It felt sooooooo slow. I first thought the combat will be turn based but turns out it pops up a little mini-game 😅. That is cool too.
I really liked the different combat variations. I also agree with controls being a bit stiff, or rather too slow to accelerate. The darkness makes it scary!
I like the darkness in the game. It makes a good atmosphere.
Controls were annoyingly stiff. Player moves like a quadriplegic in hot tar. Combat felt more like a chore than actual gameplay. It tore me mad that I couldn't pick up more than 1 key at a time so I had to do a lot of backtracking in order to beat the game. The theme felt like it was slapped to a pre-existing game, but atleast it could be understood.
A nice little game that felt like a slow and a long one.
Loved the art! Music was immersive as well! Some of the items on the ground didn't go into my inventory when i pressed f like a sword and a golden key on the map. The theme wasn't obvious but was there for the sake of it. Other than that i loved what you pulled off in 7 days!!
Thanks u so much, for items that u cannot pick up, it may be a variable reset problem, especially if your inventory was empty at the time
Yeah it had like 3 empty slots available!
