3spooky5me. I'm almost glad it didn't have audio, cuz if it did, I might not have the courage to play it. I love the art style, and though there isn't too much going on gameplaywise, there's a lot of neat Hifuu writingstuff and the wonderful KOGASA JUMPSCARE. Also it felt like I touched a ghost like 4 or 5 times but never gameover'd. Epic and spoopy game.

Game overs are based on ghost exposure time rather than direct contact. If you are seeking to get one try hanging out for longer. Glad you enjoyed!

A chilling walk in the cemetery...

I love how Renko's main idea is to uh.
Date. And propose.
In a cemetery. IJBOL
Well sure, a meaningful place to them but still a cemetery. I was almost expecting one of them to get abducted and the other one to clad herself in armour and fight through an army of Ghouls and Ghosts. Twice.

So uh. Is that spirit photography, or is that a photobomb?
Also my favourite part is sympathizing with the garbage bin. We need more garbage bins in Touhou games. I love garbage bins.

Also if ghosts are game over, why friend-shaped? (That's how I game-overed within one minute)

Developer

I believe that it can both be unintentional spirit photography and a photobomb. As for the Bakebake, I suppose Merry is just not a fan of phantoms even when they're cute.

A spooky way to to spend an anniversary. I did like realizing that Renko was not being entirely honest about her intentions as more items are found. The two really chat like old friends, or something more. Sadly, my hifuu lore is weak and the reminiscing went way over my head. The visuals are great, with the blend of 2D adding to the dissonance of the creepy foggy graveyard. A bit hard too, trying to find 2D objects before Merry gets too spooked. The ending screen ties the experience together with a nice bow.

What is it with Hifuu games and great atmosphere? Well, I doomed the yuri a few times, but I was able to prevail. Cute art and nice use of 2D sprites in 3D.

Dig the concept of having a retrospective for each item. If you want audio for post jam, the Hifuu Music Archive is always available

I really like the concept here. I couldn’t tell if there was another ending than the “too many ghosts” game over, but I did try a few times. It’s not really a horror game, but the spooky vibes are definitely present.

The art is lovely and the writing’s fun. I like Merry’s trash can bit. Nice game!

there is a good ending if you pick up each item representing an album

Aha! I went back and realised I had missed the Mt Fuji postcard. Very cute ending pic :D
