The game isn't that complicated technically, but offers a lot of interesting mechanics, puts polish into the feel at the right places, isn't punishing, is really funny and overall strikes high in all categories. Definitely one of my favorites.

there are a lotta dudes here and they all look very nice
the vibes are fantastic and sanae clearly has a lot of experience trick or treating, being from the outside world. wait they probably don't do that in japan. well. super cool and pretty polished regardless
score: 77 (not very good since i got hit a few times)
Love the character's artwork! They are cute and expressive! Overall this is a fun game.
I streamed the game here around minute 102 in case anyone wants to watch:
I had one question though. I believe we can't scare any of the flying characters, but can we scare Byakuren?
Very fun game! The artstyle is adorable as well. I feel kinda bad for making Sanae cry. Easily one of my fav games this jam. Highest score I could manage was 148
Kogasa manages to surprise people??
Absolutely love the game, really cute style, really endearing how the umbrella tricks the others.
There are some things I've been thinking about:
- I find it way faster to surprise people by just running past them and then sneaking in their back, rather than waiting for them in hiding. It doesn't help that most of them are rather slow so it really incentivizes the player to just do that - even though doing jumpscares from jumping out of hiding is hilarious. Sanae and Remilia are the fastest targets so it works really well against them.
- Would be about perfect if the people you've successfully tricked kept a face that says "haha I've been had" or "phew that was scary". Would really bring satisfaction AND indicate who doesn't have candy for you anymore. Remilia shows it really well.
- Just a very minor thing, turns out that the "jumpscare hitbox" is in front of Kogasa. There were times where I was hiding but I was facing away so the first few times I wondered why the trick didn't work (even through Kogasa was riiight in front of someone). I don't think it needs to be adjusted, I just understood the hitbox later than I'd have liked.
But again, very fun and cute! Congrats for putting this together and submitting it in the nick of time!
Spookily wholesome Kogasa representation where she gets to live out her dream of surprising youkai and humans? Sign me up!
I love how varied and engagingly challenging the gameplay loop is. You've got a colourful cast of characters, each with their own little quirks: from Byakuren with her DEATH METAL BIKE to Sanae with her high-risk high-reward element (drops a lot of candy but also throws danmaku into your face). Speaking of which - I like how you can hide behind a tree to dodge the danmaku too. Nice little touch. I also was really surprised at Byakuren's appearance as well - though I wonder if you can scare her and get a lot of candy from her too?
The aesthetics and music are also very nice! For me Byakuren's bike sounds are a bit too loud compared to everything else, but that's just a minor grip.
Overall, good job on the game!
Do you think it'd be possible to export a Linux version? The game's window is pure grey when I run it with WINE. I would really like to play it.

Very cute and offers a polished gameplay!
Absolutely brilliant! Really fun gameplay loop and charming presentation. The costumes were a really nice touch.
