What's the best practice if our game has non-zero price? I wanna make sure that voters and Long Tail Games can get a copy.

That's a good question (and I don't really know itch.io well enough to give the best answer). 

In your case, I think providing the preview image of the full game is enough.

Might I recommend Community Copies for the game? I've heard of creators using it as an opportunity to promote the game in general, which could be useful in its own right.

Well sure, but the text for your community copies says I can’t use them.
