Which Theme did you choose?

Realm of the Dead

How did you implement your chosen Theme into your game?
I have tried to of used all of the four themes and bonus challenges to inspire the layout and decisions when creating the games assets. However not many programmed systems or game play loops explore the themes to well.

Did you implement any of the Bonus Challenges and if so, which ones?

When trying to install with the itch app, I get the error "Cannot read property "build" of undefined"

Developer

Just had a look and got the same error through the app however the browser version worked. Thanks for letting me know bit late to solve but I'll do some research.

Hmm, I'm not seeing a browser version on the game's itch page.

Feel free to ping me when it gets fixed and I'll give it a play to write some feedback :)

Loved the aesthetic, this game is gorgeous (in it's own spooky way). I also got stuck at the fisherman, then unintentionally broke the game by wall-jumping up the far left wall and moving off the map, which allowed me to move to the right under the level and see the rest of the area! Probably not what was intended though XD. The mechanics were interesting but could have been better explained/more fleshed out. Overall this felt more like a prototype, but was visually awesome and has potential! Music was great too, really kept me on edge the whole time despite not running into enemies.

Nice aestetics and smooth control most of the time (walljump is probably bugged, what is annoying at harder platformer parts. Also hard to distinguish which objects have colliders and where is the path).
Overall enjoyable expirience, nice job! The experiment was succesful!

I really love the aesthetics of this game and would play it just to run around! I'm not the best at platformers though and got stuck at the scene with the man fishing...maybe in the beginning you could have very simple jumps to get ppl used to the mechanics and gravity before progressing to harder "levels". I personally need a bit more vertical leeway to react to what's happening, like either higher jumping or slower gravity. But I'm also terrible at platformers so... :D

Point taken it was meant to be a double jump dash into the unknown kind of symbolic thing yet it fell a little flat.

From a game design point of view I really should of had some way for you to head back to the street scene become available if you headed back left or had an alternative route open up.

Thanks again for the thoughts there really helpful and appreciated.

It's very pretty looking with good sound design just needs some work on the progression front but all the building blocks are there :)  Guessing you ran out of time?

Thanks for trying it out appreciated. Was going to push the platforming a little bit more But the project was more of a artistic experiment and your right time started to get the better of me. Look forward to checking out Through the Catacombs.
