Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
I wanted to make a survival game where you are helping the environment, instead of taking from it. The player's goal is to clean-up piles of scrap littered across islands from a disaster and assist anyone in need - which ties into the theme of generosity.

Despite overwhelming ambition, this program behaves exactly as one would expect… not a single technical issue was encountered. Extremely impressive for a sole creator.

The sound design is simple, fits well, and is pleasing to the ears. The visual style is equally pleasant, with all assets having a clear and cohesive style (apart from the characters, which are in delightful opposition). It is a very nice touch to have the icon in the center of the screen change depending on what is being interacted with.

The user interface is clean and responsive, and even down to the menu controls, it is clear that the creator appreciates “Minecraft”. With seemingly so much to do, players may find themselves sipping from a dirty mug as they ponder their next move.

That's a very polished game for a 3-week game jam. I  always enjoythe survival and crafting game. And I love your character designs! (NPCs) I can feel the heart you guys put into them....I know the art of characters might be a little off the environment, but from my point of view, that is CUTE! >< I really like this feature.

Crafting/survival games are some of my favorite, so I had a ton of fun with this game! The mechanics were fun and creative, and the NPCs are charming, even if they stand out a bit too much from the rest of the environment, The only thing is I wish there was a save feature, since my laptop ended up crashing sometime after I got to the second station and I had to start over. I think this has a lot of potential, so if you keep working on it, I'd love to come back and revisit it in the future. Great work!

I completely agree about needing a save feature. After spending a bunch of time building a base for screenshots my PC randomly decided to restart and I had to do it all over again >.<. Thanks for playing!

Super cool game. Love the survival mechanics and the 2D doodle characters!

This looks very good and the NPCs are cool but since there are no credits or attribution I’m curious what was done during the jam and what was reused from previous work or asset packs. I’m mostly curious because I’d like to use some of these assets if they are available :)

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I ran out of time to include the credits in the game itself, but did include an "Asset Credits.txt" file in the zip download which lists everything used - there's a lot. Most of the assets are free, although there are a few paid ones which I got from bundle sales a while back. Almost all of the 3D models came from asset packs with some being edited or kitbashed to fit my uses. Outside of asset packs and a small audio script from a past project, the rest of the code was written during the jam. The majority of my time was spent programming the inventory/crafting systems.

That’s awesome. I didn’t think about checking for credits in the download. I’ll check that out. Thanks for the pointers!

Wow - I really enjoyed the slight twist to the surival genre - did you handcraft all the NPCs yourself? They all seem very charming!

Crazy amount of work in 3 weeks - especially your onboarding and UI / UX. I had a good time!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes, the NPCs were all quick doodles by me - time was very tight so the majority of them were made in the last day :P
