Cool you added a sprint mechanic. Gathering an army of syringe shooters is very satisfying too.
I would add some simple animation for when the enemies get hit.
Nice little game I also like how you gather up an army to follow you, next level would be to implement some separation code for them as well as patterns of movement :)

Nice game! Works well, interesting idea. The graphics could use some smoothing out, and the stages feel maybe a little too long and repetitive. Good work overall.
