Game looks interesting, graphics are quite nice. Can't say much because there isn't much, and because every one else already said all I had in mind. One think I'd suggest add option to close shop with escape button, or add text that will tell players they should press E to exit.

I can't add much more than what everyone else has said. This is a great concept! Can't wait to see what you're going to do next!
I played it for a while; it's entertaining and seems to have potential. However, I did encounter an issue, and I'm not sure if anyone else experienced it, but when I opened the upgrade menu on the islands, I couldn't close it. But aside from that, I quite enjoyed it.
thank you everyone for the comments and interest! i am in the process of adding multiplayer to this game, so unfortunately i will not be making any updates to the mouse aim yet, as that has already been done but to build the game i must finish multiplayer. it will be a beautiful game when im done! thank you again everyone for your interest!
Hi, nice idea. I did not see that you could go to islands for upgrades but saw this in a later post. Since I was on a ship I tried to avoid those and saw them more as an obstacle then as an upgrade part, maybe add some port in a later update to make it more clear? I also agree with Dragon about the mouse controls, whilst feeling okay I did have some times where I lost control and it just spun.I do like the idea and im curious what you'll do with it. Good luck!
This feels like a good start. I played to 39 kills, and maxed out some upgrades.
The biggest thing that stood out to me were the controls. The ship rotated based on the mouse position, but instead of the front of the ship facing the pointer, it kept the pointer to starboard. This was very unintuitive, and even after I figured out how the rotation worked it still messed me up more than once. I'd much rather the ship head toward the mouse pointer. With the use of the keyboard for forward and reverse movement, it would be nice if you added A and D as an alternative input for rotation. There should probably be an option to disable using the mouse for rotation for those who want to use the keyboard for all movement, so that the mouse does not interfere while clicking to fire. Similarly, adding keyboard input for firing would be nice. If you added options for keyboard for both rotation and firing, then those who want to use just the keyboard could ignore the mouse. While the option to disable mouse would be nice for those who want to use keyboard only for movement and mouse for firing, having the option to just use the keyboard would make a disable mouse rotation setting less important.
On the island screen it was not immediately clear what was interactable. The buttons at the bottom looked like buttons, but the upgrades did not. It would be nice if there were hover effects for interactable items, and making them look more clearly interactable even without the hover. With my above suggestion of allowing keyboard only inputs, this screen would, ideally, also get some form of keyboard support. Being a shop screen, and the intended primary input being keyboard and mouse together, I'd consider this more of a nice to have and not needed. It would also be nice if the upgrades had an indication of how many you can get of each. On a related note, it would be nice to see the max for stats like health on the main UI as well. One issue I had on this screen was that it did not scale down to the default viewport size. When not in fullscreen mode, the buttons overlap and the upgrade text overlaps the background lines.
At some point the islands disappeared. It was shortly before I stopped playing. I'm not sure when as I only really paid attention to them when going there. I just suddenly saw the popup text for interacting with an island, but no island. I checked the mini-map and it looked like one should be there. I went to where another was supposed to be and got the same thing. It seemed like I could also pass and shoot right through where they should be. I was still able to interact with them.
I can't really rate this entry since I don't know what was updated for the Sprint. It would be helpful if you could edit the submission to include details on what was done for it.
Well, I wasn't planning on playing as long as I did, but that's a good sign. Got up to like 20 kills. There's a lot to work on, and a lot of jank you're probably aware of, but I feel like the simplicity works, and is kind of compelling. Here's some impressions and notes:
1. I used mouse and keyboard, so maybe not ideal, but I felt the mouse aiming was difficult. Also I realize I should have played full screen, because my mouse kept going outside of the box.
2. I never was sure which way I was going to fire, right or left, since the ship keeps turning. Maybe some sort of visual indicator to help you keep track (like red on one side, yellow on the other?)
3. Some of the upgrade buttons didn't work for me (Health and Cannons), and they don't even look like buttons (so I didn't know I could press them at first). Also the other buttons (buy, sell, repair) are overlapping each other fo r me. I'm on Windows, Edge, and not full screen
4. Very frustrating how slow the ship is at first, but feels much better as you upgrade the speed (and once I figured out how to upgrade). So this probably is a good thing, but just make it clear to players that they can upgrade speed.
5. I didn't know the green circles were aim assists. I was trying to hit other ships with them at first :). Maybe making them like a gun sight thing or something would be good?
Anyway, I know it sounds negative, but I definitely got into the game, and there's a lot to like, so this is a good prototype, and I think a lot of the above can be fixed pretty easily. Then if you want you can start adding things like more enemy types, different weapon upgrades, different types of islands etc.
