The plot twist really caught me off guard, to be honest. At first, I wasn’t into the art style, but as I kept playing, it fit the story really well. You did a great job. GG! ❤

You must have been coughing blood up for real after this effort!
The amount of sprites is insane! You went really hard on this! With the blinking animation and everything it really brought the character alive. The unhinged dialogue was also well written and really made me feel the horror of it all. Also impressive how polished everything looked. The UI fit perfectly. I normally advice people to not get too weird with font choices but here you choice really fit perfectly and gave it personality while still being readable.
Thank you for making this game! Looking forward to see what you will make next year!
Incredibly creepy story, that really used the medium well! Forcing the player through the initial decisions, making use of user imputs, and the cutesy graphics all combined into something viscerally unpleasant, in a very impressive way. Well done!
damn, at first the visuals put me off (more so ‘cause it’s not my type of style) but upon getting into the story I find that it really fits the theme of the story very well.
The dialogue is very very well written , and very real. The protagonist is infuriating but really realistic in that you do see this kind of people irl. And it’s absolutely infuriating to play from their perspective LOL.
The horror aspect is very interesting to me, and it leaves the interpretation of whether
to put this as vaguely as I can lol (slight spoilers)
the whole thing was even real for the protag and that it only happened mid way, or was he already in it right from the beginning.I’m very intrigued by this game that I might just go check out Matryoshka now LOL. 10/10.
I'm so glad you liked it. One thing I think is interesting is how everyone assumes the protagonist to be a male. I took the gender out for the player to project their own gender onto them but they were originally supposed to be a girl lol. It makes sense, but it makes me wonder if taking out the toxic yuri aspect was worth it. \(0^◇^0)/
An absolute CULT CLASSIC in the making! This was enthralling! truth be told, I because aware of this through the youtube channel ManlyBadassHero; i got a few minutes into his Let's Play and i had to stop the video... because i wanted to play it spoilers free!
Absolutely worth it. I'm in love with this game now. Thank you for this wonderful VN!
Cheers!!
ABSOLUTE BANGER!!! I LOVE MICHELLE!!! I felt so called out when she started being sassy with me yikes
In all seriousness though, this was a delight through and through! The writing was very compelling and don't get me started on the art! It amazed me that you drew so many with such high quality in a short span of time! I'm praying that your hands are healthy and fine after all that... The music was also very catchy and cute. Honestly I just absolutely adore everything about this game!
(Uh well, someone had already mentioned it, but the GUI is a bit all over the place and hard to read. The aesthetic IS very nice though, I love the barrage of cute things that just rained down when you opened the menu. But this didn't really take away the joy of playing through the game for me)
Thank you sm! Yeah my hands are... still attached. tbh I was worried about it because I was worried I was sacrificing quality by making so many, but I'm glad people like it!
The menu is something I'm trying to fix, it's just fighting me and as long as it works its fine for now.
Anyway I'm grateful you've played it, your game is on my list. :)
U•ェ•*U
I'm glad to hear that your hands are at least... fine 😭 But that sacrifice turned out to be really worth it and it definitely increased the quality imho!
I know how it feels to be struggling against coding and GUI... I wish you good luck with it and hope for the best! And oh man I'm a bit nervous now LOL but I do hope you enjoy what we've put out!
sorry I didn't say much yesterday :') , I really liked the change of view and the portrayal of the streamer, I believe I've got the true ending and it feels correct. It's not a happy one but her starting to quite literally open up felt right for the situation. (I'm not good at writing down my thoughts so this comment is still quite short plus english isn't my first language so I tend to limit myself so that I won't do too many grammatical errors)
I really liked this game, it was so cute and yet dark. I was shocked at first to see what perspective and who we were, but I thought that weas a great twist in the beginning -- a nice hook for sure. The gui page when you need to save needs the options moved over a bit in the coding but other than that I didn't see anything off. Great job!
She made me really think about things, and some of what she said, no, a lot of what she said I couldn't bring myself to disagree with. We hide our true face, our true self, because we're afraid that nobody will like our true selves. Perhaps it's true. I have a lot of thoughts I'd rather not put out in public where I can be judged for them.
Even still, there's more to being in love, being in a relationship than being companions. You can't really say you love someone until you've seen that true self of theirs. Once you've seen the ugly feelings they hide from everyone else. Only then can you truly love someone. Until then, it's a game of masks and pretty faces. I don't want someone I can just turn off and on again. I want someone I can be comfortable being myself with, and sorry, Michelle, I just don't see it.
Obsessed fan kidnapping streamer to obtain girlfriend gone wrong! The twist isn't simply that it was a mistake because Michelle is freakier than you. No, the true horror is how she dismantles you over a course of days with philosophical lectures; infinitely more terrifying than cutting us up like a sexy slasher killer! At first I found the premise off-putting but then the way Michelle ran circles around her captor (while chained up) had me captivated (and find her off-putting in a different, desirable way). Michelle isn't just another pretty face in the "yandere abduction" genre who will be forgotten once the game is finished and blend seamlessly in our fog of memories. She has imprinted herself in my mind (just like Elizabeth from Matryoshka from the same developer; go play that too! It's underrated!)
Any fictional character could threaten to kill you, tell you they love, or insult you. Michelle will make you do some self-reflection thinking. How nice of her to enrich our minds with her all-encompassing love~
really creative take on the 'VN character becomes self-aware' trope! I like the commentary on the parasocial nature of watching streamers and getting attached to internet personas. the game is super polished, and the amount of unique text inputs and number of sprites is super impressive! amazing work!!
