I’m intrigued by the story and what’s to come, god damn the cliffhanger and my bae ;O;

Really love the visuals, soundtrack, GUI, and the writing!! The whole feeling of the visuals and soundtrack matches so well and is my kind of shtick. Some of the characters already have my attention, I like how some of their dialogues are written (like how I find the pompous but lemme-show-care-via-pompous-means Gaspard to be endearing lmao :U).

You guys did an incredible job, I really had a blast playing through Babelomania and look forward to the full game’s release!

Thank you so much for the review and for streaming it! ^^ We loved your theorizing and hypothesis. The time travel idea was intriguing~

A very great game! Intriguing plot, nice visuals, and music.

... that cliffhanger, tho. I'm curious about the continuation. Looking forward to how the story will unfold from here.

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much! And you can blame the boss Meinos Kaen for the cliffhanger... He loves those, as people who's been following our past projects can attest.

Very rarely do I come across professional-grade projects in game jams (of which, I admit, I've only voted in some of and never developed any games for) - but this? I feel like I just played a demo of a professional puzzle VN which got featured on a Steam VN Fest. The writing, as others have also noted, is very natural. Not only that, it actually takes into consideration the language barrier in a realistic fashion.

The audio is expertly sourced and used effectively. Not to mention the original music is incredible in its composition and setting moods.

The story...man, what a well-executed series of twists! I can't really talk about them without spoiling them, but suffice to say I did not expect the ending to give off Deus Ex 1 vibes.

Also, I just have to ask: did you take some visual inspiration from Cryo's early adventure games, namely Dune and Lost Eden? The way the characters are composited into the scenes feels like an evolution of those games' wide shots.

I can't wait for the full game so I can get resolutions to that cliffhanger of an ending.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The team worked very hard to make this as good as we could within the confines of the Jam, and we're glad people are liking it so much! We'll pass the praise on to everyone!

For the question, our Director Meinos Kaen says:
"I can't say I've had the pleasure of playing those two games, but now I will have to! If I had to think of an inspiration, Paranormasight and Danganronpa use sprites in a similar way, although those games have fully 3D environments, so I couldn't replicate it 1:1, obviously."

Very stylistic with lots of intrigue.  Pacing felt a little slow but that might just be me.  Impressive job!

Developer(+2)

Thank you for the review! Indeed, we've decided to go with the 'bomb under the table' kind of pacing :)

This is a very well made game. The way the story get started was very natural, the game has great pace and the art style really fit well with the narrative. I really like how we get to know more of each character as the story progress, including the main  character. The mystery  is intriguing and I look forward to see more of it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Indeed, we can't wait to see where the story goes either. We've decided to turn the demo into a full game!

OMG  this is so good! The UI and art are out of this world, and all the fun mechanics! Though it took me a while to get the code because i'm a bit dumb,  i need more!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for the feedback! This was our first ever horror project, so we're glad we managed to make something people enjoy!
