I use this word extremely often, but this game is very aesthetical. If you would make it FNAF type or something like that, it would be unironically scary. This game is just a funny joke nothing more. Also i recommend you to distrot the sound to make it even worse and scarier. 6/10

Fun game!! I included it in a compilation video series of all of the games from the ‘So Bad It’s Good’ Jam, if you’d like to take a look :)

nice video
thanks for joining the fight against skeles

Really like the retro look/style of the game!

I appreciate that the skeletons have the decency to explode upon death, too many contemporary video game enemies lack that common courtesy!

That said I am a bit in the same boat as XCVG, the game was almost too good, so I think I'm going to abstain from rating it since I really don't know what's appropriate as a rating in that case. Which, again, doesn't mean I disliked it, there was a lot to like and I had fun!

I loved the Skellies' animation when they were not yet aggro'd as well as their sounds. The whole game reminded me of Duke Nukem, but my main disappointment (because of that fact) was that you can't kick while punching while running, all at the same time. (It also made me expect you could somehow replenish health from the water coolers) Levels were a bit on the big side, but I didn't have many stretches of not encountering anything!

I did like that you can reach negative HP when I tested what happens upon death after my playthrough, made me think of Daggerfall!

I really want to give this a good rating, I really do. It's one of my favorites of the jam and it was pretty fun. But it really felt more retro than awful, reminding me of 90s shooters complete with the pixelation and inaccurate mousing. I enjoyed it, I thought it was fun, but it's just not bad enough to get a high rating from me. You can take that as a bad thing or a good thing, I'm honestly not sure what it is.

Glad you liked it! It's a tough jam to rate, for sure. A bulk of the "vision" for this game was based on my earliest practices as a game developer when  I was in middle school - discordant sounds from all different bitrates, non-unified design elements, graphics from multiple sources at different sizes, etc. Thanks for playing, and check out Creature Castle on my page if you're into retro games!

Fuck, this game is awesome. Like on every single level is awesome. Love it man, the only downside I see, which makes the game a little bit boring, is that level are way too big, but other than that, it is perfect.
Definitely my favorite game of this jam.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Believe it or not the levels were originally 4x that size, which was waaaaaaaaaaay too big and impossible to navigate without a map.
