Great work on the sound and visuals!
The art style is cool and unique. The length of the game also feels just right.

This was very good, my finger went number trying to resist the hunger. And then I gave in to it haha

I'm out of words, but I love this. Just loved it. From the aesthetics, to the sound, to the writing and to the disturbing aftertaste it had. Just, loved it.

Thank you so much !! I’m glad you enjoyed it ! I really appreciate it

Short but sweet! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and storytelling. It captures a very oppressive mood with the music, visuals, and story. I just felt like it was a bit short, but I guess that’s because of how good what we got was. Great stuff!

Very good pixel art, an horrorific storytelling and an immersive sound design. I almost destroyed my keyboard pressing W. :) [Spoilers] I think all the mini games were meant to lead you to failure, once I realised that I lost the adrenaline that was making my heart beat faster. Apart from that I really enjoyed the experience.

The music and visual design are fantastic—while the small screen was a bit restrictive, it didn’t detract too much. The soundtrack is oppressive in a good way, setting a perfect mood. The storyline is eerie and engaging, reminding me of the 2019 film "The Lighthouse," and the text enhances the game’s atmosphere. However, I found the font a bit hard to read, especially with the text jumps, which made my eyes tired. The skill-check gameplay mechanics didn’t add much beyond distracting from the reading, and failure didn’t seem to have consequences. If more impactful, simple mechanics were added, I think it would elevate the experience further. Overall, it’s a captivating story I enjoyed diving into. Thanks for the game! :)

Tysm for the feedback !! I'm glad you enjoyed it ! I definitely agree with all you've said here, this was one of my first published games regardless of the jam, so I wanted to make sure any gameplay was as simple as possible, but going forward I plan to implement some more interesting and complex gameplay into my games !!

If this is your first game jam submission, then congratulations! This is really impressive for a first attempt!

Really enjoyed it!

The interesting art style and gameplay design are fantastic; it would be even better if the game window size could be adjusted.

Developer

ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU, was trying to figure out the window size for a bit ! Once the gamejam is over it will be one of the first things implemented

10/10 game!

Cool game with some neat gritty graphics, and quite a story. The text was a bit hard to read due to the post-processing. Good implementation of failure-is-the-only-option minigames, I am glad I have a mechanical keyboard!

Developer

I do fear for some players keyboards (I myself do not have a mechanical one (it was rough))

Really fascinating little experience. It's a bit sparse, and a bit grim, but there's something really compelling about it. The gameplay is a bit empty for the most part, but that compliments the theme of hunger rather nicely, I think. The few moments of very intense gameplay really draw that into sharp focus, and the attention to detail is really impressive. For something created in seven days, this is a game that feels very complete. About the cruelest thing I could say about it is that the ending feels just a bit abrupt, but that's a very mild criticism properly placed in the context of a game jam, where time is at such a steep premium. The scene in the shed is deeply jarring and utilizes the "condemned to fail the minigame" style of gameplay very nicely in a way that reflects our pov character's lack of willpower. It felt a little bit like a love letter to both The Lighthouse (film) and Mouthwashing (game), but while dramatically shorter than both, it made up for its length with very solid visuals and storytelling.

Wow the aesthetic was awesome! Such a great style for the game, and the sound design and music was fantastic, really drove the whole "spooky factor". Fantastic job !!!

Tysm !!

Great aesthetic, but I wish you could either make it full screen, or have larger font since I had a hard time reading some of the text.

Developer

Absolutely agree !! I tried my best to implement full screen before the gamejam was over but I wasn't able to, I'll definitely add that at some point when the jam is over

Was spamming the W key and I thought my finger cracked! Really cool aesthetics and a fun little game! Being hungry while playing this game didn't help at all : )
The hand pointer disappearing after a while was a nice touch
