I REALLY LIKED THIS
The art design was super effective, I loved the character models and animations, they worked super well !
The game functioned great, didn't run into any issues
The music was so so good I loved the second track near the end !!
All of the voice acting fit the vibe of the game quite well
In terms of critique I'd say the map didn't quite feel like it matched the art style of the character models as much as it could've, which maybe brought down some of the effect of the game (and I would've loved a sound effect for when the trees open)
overall I thought this was a really fun little experience, I am very partial to dark fantasy !
Generally with my games the visuals come first and it's just about making everything look exactly how I picture it !
Sound design is just one of my favorite things ever, I'll spend hours getting it right, I've heard the term "good sound design is noticeable, great sound design isn't" thrown around a lot but I entirely disagree, by definition it is a heard art it should be listened to, so I always try to make my sound design a little out there, as to make it sort of undeniable

the way the dialogue/inner monologue floats in is very effective, felt like a really simple way to realistically communicate how it feels to think and perceive, while also being somewhat overwhelming (in a positive way the game had a grip on me while I was playing for that reason)
The arrival of the "person" felt immediately alarming and did not stop feeling alarming at any point I was certainly on edge
If I had any criticism I'd say the ending felt a little abrupt (although I did like it), and the title screen feels a little undercooked (although it doesn't actually matter)
(love to see Lynch media referenced)

Really loved the art and the concept !! The character writing felt really solid, and for a game with so much text there were very minimal grammatical errors which is always impressive
I really enjoyed how every friend in the phone had a different speaking pattern and way of typing it felt a lot more real
Did not disappoint, the execution of the concept (so far) felt like it landed well !
WOW that was so cool
My biggest fear when playing any game rooted in surrealism with a really concrete visual style is that the story will be altogether too vague (or come across as condescending in a way) however this was a very pleasant surprise, the story felt entirely understandable in a way that still came across as creative and matched how the game presented itself !! It has a very strong identity throughout that I'm a big fan of, and I just adore the character designs
(also love what you did with the camera, I love a game that occasionally changes it's viewpoint)
The absolute biggest critique I could give it is an overall lack of a horror vibe, but who really cares when the rest of the game is dripping with style anyway !
LOVED the puzzles, made us feel so smart when I (or my girlfriend for the most part being entirely real) finally figured them out !! The vibes were fantastic, the ending terrified us, the story was very intriguing, the amount of worldbuilding for a game made in such a short period was great

How the hell was this made in 7 days???? Oh my god???? This was so good !! I absolutely adored how the screen ratio shifted depending on how narrow the tunnels were, the scary moments had me terrified, the intense moments stressed me to high heavens, and I laughed quite a lot at some of the graffiti on the walls and the check in book, one of my favorite games of the jam for sure !!

Liked the visual style a lot, I'm incredibly partial to a fps game every now and then (I absolutely love them) and this game delivered in that sense !
Vibes were very cool, the atmosphere felt somewhat claustrophobic, but I mean that in the best way possible it definitely added positively to the experience !!
I AM SPEECHLESS, the storytelling in this game is absolutely stunning, loved the cuts and unconventional non-linear timeline it was told in, would LOVE to see this story explored more !! Was not expecting this to be quite as gutting as it was, but I think I genuinely held my breathe

ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS, the gameplay was very engaging and fun, had a real unnerving quality to it, I appreciated the moments of writing between each day they were very well written, the art conveyed everything it needed to effectively and looked great doing it !!
Overall, very much enjoyed this, I'll be looking forward to more possible games from you in the future !

I've been trying to work on my surrealist writing for some time so I'm glad to hear It shows through my games (I was most definitely heavily inspired by whos lila while working on this one)
Nothing happening within the game engine is actually 3D, all elements are rendered ahead of time, and for instances like moving the camera I just applied a curved warp to the screen and moved the background to create the illusion of a third dimension !!
