This is probably one of my favorite games from this Jam, the action and perspectives you made, reminded me so much of resident evil or alone in the dark, and it really added to the tension when the Killer appeared, the whole atmosphere was excellent and the suspense scenes were so well done without making them impossible or frustrating.
Suggestions:
Would definitely reconsider the mapping for certain keys, like instead of enter for action "E" would be way easier, being a gamer and all, I'm kind of used to the keys being in easy to figure locations.
Would have also loved for the story to be a bit more detailed, that would have added to the game significantly.
Overall a very refined game, definitely hoping to see more in the future!
Really good PS1 style felt like the original Resident Evil in appearance and controls. The action was good the encounters were interesting all in all it was really good. Hope it really is to be continued.
Awee thank you :) And I would like to continue it and maybe jump up to PS2 era graphics haha!
This is so professionally done! Very cinematic and atmospheric. Enjoyed every single second, but that maze though was pretty challenging. Souls-like experience on that part haha
Highly rated!
Awee thank you so much π Yeah the maze though π π Thought process was just try to pad it out a bit longer... I went too overboard with it sadly π
I will agree with Mecha in saying this is an amazingly solid and polished game!
This immediately screams Resident Evil and is of course a good concept to build off of! This is one of the few entries I feel actually doesnβt need much work and is perfect as-is!
Keep up the great work!
Awee thank you so much it's really kind of you to say :)
(It definitely needs more sfx though haha!)
This is solid entry, very polished in such a short amount of time. The axe murderers first appearance definitely gave me a jump scare. I love that there was voice acting, and the fixed camera angle added that retro nostalgia. I found myself a bit lost in the meat-bag freezer section, but it didn't take too long to figure it out. Overall - this is a great entry and you boys should be proud
Awee thank you so much for the kind words :) Glad you got a scare from his first appearance haha! I should of dialed back with the maze though xD Definitely gave into those darker impulses...
Hey! Nice game you made! I admit I jumped a lot because the bad guy was unpredictible. Here is a video of the playthrough I did if you're interested:
I really liked the cameras and cinematics, that adds a lot to the story and it was really enjoyable. The whole passage in the underground was difficult because it is easy to get lost, I didn't know where to go. I would suggest to have a feedback on interactable items (like hover color or idk) so that we know when and where to interact with things :)
anyway really good job
I took a look and left a like thank you very much! :)
Thank you for the feedback too! Yeah I got a "little" (Read very haha) carried away with trying to make the underground a little too maze like! And I'll have to add in a toggle highlight button or something then!
That was awesome! Custom made stuff, no asset flippin, and the whole game just works!
Good stuff: Cinematics! Voice acting a bit meh, but who cares! Very nice homage to classic RE games. Great camera placements. Very nice enviros, seem to be custom made too!
Bad stuff: Controls (turning) are a bit too sensitive, takes a bit of getting used to
Thanks a lot for all the feed back π There is a few premade assets used though I will admit (trees/bushes, cars and a few furniture items) but they blended really well with what we made π
