The lighting really works for this, I wasn't expecting the first time I saw an enemy without glowing eyes!

Yea, the ultimate tool of game development - less content!

This was a fun little experience.
I had one problem with this though. The puzzle where you had to push something completely back to the start was a bit too tedious for me.
Also this ran really well in my browser considering it's a unity game!

Developer

Thanks! I think the player should have moved a lot faster, but then the enemies would have to move faster and then the difficulty would have been to be adjusted...

But I'm glad someone solved it!

Really fun game! The atmosphere is very cool and the sounds helps to create stress, great work!

This is a really cool horde survival horror game! The lighting mechanics in this game are by far the coolest thing - I love the atmosphere created by the dim lights, the lamps, and the flashes of light when shooting. They give the map a very eerie, confined feel and make me feel very uneasy when navigating the streets! I gotta say that this approach works super well for the genre and it has so much potential!

I think if I were to argue anything could be improved, the dim light doesn't play well with a large map, particularly guiding players to find and resolve puzzles. Especially when there's not a lot of direction or certainty that players are going the right way, it can be hard to maintain motivation - maybe a map or more distinctive locations could help. But on the upside, it made exploring the creepy streets not knowing what to expect genuinely pretty interesting!

Thanks for submitting this game to the SCREAM JAM!

the map only feels huge BECAUSE it's dark. Its actually tiny.

BUT there are too few "milestones" in between, so you find yourself in a part that looks the same as 3 or 4 other parts of it, and that gets disorienting.

Neat game that I am too dumb for. This was probably my favourite overall for the night!

Developer

Thanks! After the voting ends I'll make a couple of changes about the puzzles that may be misleading

Super solid game. I struggled super hard with the puzzles. I'm clearly not very creative.

I did have a slight problem after I got trapped and killed on my first run. When I restarted the monster spawns went from few and only when I was away from the spawn location to NONSTOP. It got to a point where I just stopped shooting at them as they'd just instantly spawn right back two feet away. I managed to beat it with this happening, but it was very tedious.

But still, my experience was enjoyable and I hope to see more games from you in the future.

Constant respawn happens when the game thinks something is stuck where it shouldn't be. The enemies spawn where they can dislodge it (otherwise you can't solve the puzzles). It may have been fixed by moving away and let them do their thing, but it may just be a mistake as well

That may have been it. I got a crate stuck, but it wasn't spawning them really near the crate, but more along the road edges. It may have fixed the crate and stopped spawning them, I just wasn't killing them so I never noticed

Developer

Cool, either way it can get annoying. Thanks for trying it out!
