Pretty nice game indeed, here's my tips on how to improve some aspects of this game:

- add some sound/feedback, perhaps a small screen shake when there is an explosion, or some shooting sounds

- it hurts my thumb after holding down spacebar for so long, perhaps make it toggleable?

- Escape instantly closes the game, while i thought it would just pause the game, thereby losing my score, qutie the big score as well, perhaps some way to prevent this? (submit the score when game closes or just add a pause option)

- the game feels 100% random, there can be times where the screen is flooded by enemies while at other times the game can feel empty and barren.

- hitboxes are really strange, the turret's hotbox is the turret and not the base? that sometimes feels pretty awkward, while it feels that the turret's hitbox should instead be the base of the turret

- Pretty flashy! add an epilepsy warning or an option to turn off lighting effects and whatnot.

- i see all enemies already from the beginning, which tends to get quite boring! a way to combat this would be to increase the enemy's difficulty/type as the game progresses! at the beginning (< 5k score) show only the little ships and blocks, then when the player goes further (<10k score) give them the alarmblock, then add the turret, then add a new type of turret! perhaps a rocket launcher or a turret that shoots two bullets or even more simply a turret that just shoots a little faster

- Add some upgrades! perhaps the longer i play/kill the more i get xp and i can upgrade some thing son my turret! go from one cannon two two, then three and so on! having already four bullets at a time feels quite overpowered at the beginning and quite quickly becomes useless if the enemie's health get quite high

(excuse me if it's too long but i have a passion for space shooters, which reminds me i should re-make one i made some years ago)

Sound effects would have been nice or some camera shake for a great explosion. The dodging could be added well if the enemies spawn more bullets are make less space for player to move would be great

I ran out of time before adding screenshake :( I'll fine-tune difficulty curve after the jam :D thanks for playing!

The art style is really great, although I feel like this game would look even better with some post-processing. I feel like the difficulty is balanced a little too much in the player's favour; a really simple solution would be to increase the number of bullets fired by enemies and to add a cooldown to the player's weaponry. While there is background music (a big plus), I didn't notice any sound effects, which would also be a nice addition. I personally think you implemented the theme fine in this game and I definetely had fun playing it.

The art style was great ! But as everyone was saying the implementation of the theme was not so  good...

But overall it was a nice enjoyable game !

Loved the artstyle! But it was more shooting than dodging! Nice Game though! Btw the music slaps!

If the enemies are not shooting and only the player is, doesn't need much dodging in there I feel. But cool game nonetheless.

Fun game, and enjoyed the space graphic background.  I think the number of bullets fired is a bit high...once I was able to fight back the original waves, it was easy to keep them at bay as they spawned.  Overall...good job!!

Fun, but it doesn't seem like there is any reason to destroy enemies other than to get them out of your way

Music is a jam, and the art looks clean, and for its implementation and time frame, its a really nice endless scroller shooter. I feel like its lacking  a little in the dodge category. Its easy to kill everything super fast so you don't really need to worry about obstacles that much. It seemed like the turret bullets did no damage to me but then I got oneshot by a brick so maybe reconsider damage calculations. Very fun game!

Amazing game.

1, I think the game is about shooting more then dodging.

2, There should be a explosion sound.

Besides this, nice space shooter.

I love this game style! The music is very contagious and dancing, the gameplay is awesome, but the colors aren't contributing to gameplay. The background colors are same of the enemies and the level is too dark. Improve this and the game will be more funny.

thanks! I will work more on this game, it was really fun to make :)
