This was pretty fun, overall.

Except I got two issues: When I got caught by an enemy, I couldn't move or escape that situation. Is there a button on how to do that, or was that a bug?

Also, where does teleportation come into this? If the tutorial did get mention it, then I probably didn't see it.

Great soundtrack and artwork though.

Developer

Yes!, the teleportation is there!

You attack with left click, and teleport with right click!, we try to explain it super intuitively in the how to, and also in the title screen, hope you can check again and give us another chance!, thanks 😁

Hello! I think you mentioned during the stream yesterday that the levels are procedurally generated? That's really cool and they look good, though there were some dead ends that kind of end up being more annoying than interesting. Also I expected the teleportation to be more useful, usually the levels I had were open enough that it wasn't tough to escape from enemies just by walking. Also it'd be really cool if you had to use your teleportation to go over some traps and reach new (or secret) areas, or if attacking an enemy from behind does a crit!

Two big points of feedback:

  • I think it could be clearer when an attack works on an enemy, e.g. play a sound effect and show a -♡ above their heads (I know they get bumped back, but a player could mistake that for them dodging the attack)
  • The levels could use more incentive to explore, for example if there are coins which raise your score or healing items around the level then it because less of a chore like "I must explore all corners to find the stairs" and a bit more like "ooh I wonder what will be in this corner?"

Anyway, the music and the visuals are super fun, I think adding feedback for the attack, more opportunities to use the teleportation, and more motivation to explore would all make the game even cooler. Well done :)

Reading some other folks' comments, I'm thinking maybe I didn't go far enough into the dungeon to see the teleportation really shine. Perhaps in that case it could be a power you only gain later, as the floors get harder? Otherwise I think people can forget about it since it's taught early on, but isn't immediately useful.

Developer(+1)

I absolutely agree with you on all of your points!, the feedback for hitting enemy is quite nonexistent (yeah we didnt even think about it). and the teleportation is not immediately useful.

We were planning to make an upgradeable weapon /teleport range, but ran out of time before we were able to do that so we just decided to upgrade the teleportation range the lower your level is

Thank you so much for your feedback, we hope you enjoy our game! 😁

Developer(+1)

ahaha, thank you so much for the feedback, when we start working on this project there a bunch of things we want to add to this game, but we take alot time for the procedural and the AI system that make us out of time to add some feature from the design.

Love the aesthetic of the game and the sound was great, gameplay had a good amount of difficulty too!

Developer

Thank you, we woked really hard to make the difficulty progression feel like something!

It's nice when someone mentions that, Thank you

Oof that was loud! But fun game, I can see the crypt of the necrodancer inspirations well applied to the traps. Congrats :)

Developer

Yes, we really take inspiration from crypt of the necrodancer and applied it with our little twist on it! Thanks for playing our game!

Please upload WEBGL or Linux build next time. I can't play it now :(

Developer(+1)

We can build it on linux if you want!

Submitted(+1)

yes, that would be nice, the game looks quite promising

Developer

Hi, unfortunately we're unable to deploy our games to linux, sorry :(

Good AI, and game play, the teleport method was often the better way to go about avoiding enemies from what I experienced. Sound not too bad and Art was simple but pleasing to look at.

Developer

Yup, at earlier levels, the teleport range is not that much so that you are forced to fight, the more levels you play, it's really beneficial to run away from the enemy

Really cool and enjoyable game. The AI is well made (or maybe I was just bad)  a lot of time when I'm tried to outsmart it, it outsmarted me

Developer

Aahaha, thanks a lot! thanks to the programmer (my partner in this gamejam) we could get that awesome AI!

I like the concept of steps,  great potential! Just some sound on attack :D

Developer

Thanks a lot, yeah, i agree the feedback on attack / attacked needs work

Nice music! Some feedback when hitting enemies would be good addition. I'm not sure how teleport benefits the player... But maybe I didn't play long enough.

Developer

Hi, thanks for the feedback, the teleport is more useful the deeper you're in the  dungeon, every x floor, it will increase its range!

Thanks for playing!
